Had the opportunity to shoot this Aston Martin DBS over the weekend. The owner just bought it, car had less than 100 miles on it. Such an amazing car, even the paint color had a cool name.....Casino Royale.

Wow they look reeeeaally good.
For the first few, do you mess around with f stops until you get the whole car to be that sharp?

first one was shot at f2 so im guessing he was quite far away from the car to keep it all in focus. otherwise the back end would be OOF. at least i think thats right?

Thanks George. I felt bad that Barry didn't get invited, actually felt kinda guilty taking these pics without him around, haha.

Not really that far away. That photo wasn't cropped at all and was shot at 135mm. If you look at the hi-res, the back wheel is out of focus, but not much. The angle of the car has a lot to do with it being mostly all in focus too. The greater the angle of the car, the shallower the DoF can be while still keeping the car in focus.

Me too, i love the rainbow effect :)

ah thanks for clearing that up for me bob. i figured the angle of the car had something to do with it as well, just not that much.

Aston Martin's have a huuuugggee depreciation problem. Top Gear did the numbers on the car and depreciation, and its almost sickening. I love these cars.

Thanks. I wanted to get a side shot, but I already had the owner move the car twice and didn't want to ask him to move it again, haha.

Piss poor resale value is the only thing Ford contributed to their ownership of Aston! :)

^ sad to say but that statement is 100% accurate. I posted the numbers... in 1 year 36,151 dollars depreciation. Thats disgusting. Screw buying a new car at that point.
