I don't feel sorry for him at all. He had a great thing going with Tapout, working hard and running a business, but then to end it all for what? A street race?

I feel sorry for the girl in the car though, hopefully, she makes a speedy and full recovery.

I can sure as hell say I don't find any of that lulz-worthy.

97TurboDSM
03-12-2009, 01:48 PM
not sure if you're talking to me or not but if you read what i said, i clearly said that i was lulzing at the blinkers, not at his death.

doug
03-12-2009, 01:49 PM
I know.. I still just find it hard to chuckle about anything in that scene.. yikes.

97TurboDSM
03-12-2009, 01:51 PM
yea, he died. thousands of people die every day, but we're gonna make a big deal cause he had a ferrari and painted his face like a doucher? car cut in half with his blinkers on is funny

doug

I don't even know who the guy is to be honest. Not labeling you as being disrespectful, but if I gatherered humor out of such I'd consider myself being disrespectful.

disrespectful because i found it funny that a car that was cut in half had its blinkers on? i would have laughed at that where or not there was a loss of life involved.

saw this yesterday. They have done so much for the MMA world. This is a huge loss, but very unfortunate that his apparent street racing/showing off led to his demise. He was a good dude.

a "good dude" doesn't street race and put other's lives in danger... let alone street race WITH a passenger. especially not at his age...

blinkers is hilarious, maybe was signaling he was about to turn both directions? Also, I wonder if they will part this car out? That seat looks sick.

+1, unless you're an old geezer, there's no way you'd just be sitting back while some other d-bag is trying to show you up. I'd say 90% of you'd do the same thing, if you say you wouldn't you're just lying to yourself.

i wouldn't. i can defiantly say that i wouldn't cause i hate driving fast. but that really sucks RIP. did he have a family?

too mature to smash on it in a ferrari? Why did you buy your truck if you dont want to atleast get on it. Remember, hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20. At the time I can GUARANTEE he never thought hed get into a crash and die. He probably thought "oh, Ill just smash on it and lose this porsche" And when the porsche didnt fade into his rearview right away, he got hot-headed and kept in it, until he inevitably lost control and died. It 9.9 times out of 10 started as him thinking he was just going to do something he had already done hundreds of times before.

meh. maybe lol fastest car i've driven is my dad's friends z06 corvette i liked driving fast in it. so maybe your right i retract that statement haha:o

Kevin
03-13-2009, 01:33 AM
Fast cars are something that should be brought on to every driver gradually. Me, I drive a stock turbo stock boost 2g DSM. I though it was fast compared to my n/t eclipse I had before it. Got slower over time. Gradually upgrading makes you a better driver in speed IMO. I drove my aunts c5 and I was scared of it. Some people make an even bigger gap between what they've been used to. Leading mostly to crashes like this. Or just having too much money and trying to look cool.

abrok99
03-13-2009, 01:37 AM
yeah i agree. i thought my dad's infinity i35 was fast until, i drove a g35 then that was super fast for me then, i drove my dad's friend's VW r32 and z06 and i was like in awe haha but the r32 is my favorite car to drive cause its stick and turns so nice haha

dragonfly2k3
03-13-2009, 01:37 AM
not gonna lie, anyone who lets a young kid behind the wheel of a fast car is a moron. i know the vettes have a pretty well done traction control system, but still.

I never said i wasn't going to get on it... honestly, why bring up the truck? There is no way in hell that thing is going to handle high speeds no matter what i do to it... hell, i'm worried about taking it to a drag strip when i'm "done"... because i know that chassis and suspension was never intended for those kinds of speeds...

now, the entire point wasn't about "getting on it"... of course i'm going to nail the gas every once in a while. Whats the point of having the power if you're not gonna get smokey with it.

but I'm not going to be racing anyone on the street regardless of...anything. I've have no reason to show off in that way. to many people involved... What i was saying is... i'm too mature for that kind of bull****.

Seriously, the only time i'm ever impressed with people racing is on a close circuit where the driver's usually have the skills necessary to race a car against other people with the necessary skills to race a car who are all aware of the car, other cars, and the track. And if i'm going to race... thats where i want to do it

but my point is it probably never started as racing. He probably smashed it next to a porsche in a juvenile attempt at looking cool, and when the porsche challenged back his ego was hurt. Its quite clear hes already a meat head type guy with an ego the size of montana.

sounds like it started as a race in his mind if thats what happened. And still not something i would have done, nor would i have attempted to keep up.

more than likely i'd be pissed there weren't any cops around for **** like that, as usual

Article says he was 45?... sounds like small dick syndrome to me... at 45, with that king of money, i really don't think he needed to impress the chick to get her in bed.

If i'm a multi millionaire at 45, i'm going to be seeking my scca racing license and building a spec miata or two.

Did he do a douchebag move for racing in a Ferrari on a public street? You bet ya. Do we need to sling mud at him after his dead? Damn, at least wait until his body is cold before you start.

His family members and friends are mourning right now, show some damn respect.

are ferraris designed to have the engine detached from the cockpit upon impact? it seems like everytime u see a ferrari crash in hollywood half the car is a mile away from the scene, is it some kind of safety feature?

They are mostly Carbon Fiber and Fiberglass. At high impact speeds, it's going to just shatter.
