when u repalce the timign belt, you you replace everything or just the belt

I would suggest replacing: timing belt, tensioner, water pump, and idler. If you are in there you might as well eliminate the balance shafts.

Replace whatever needs to be replaced. Most importantly, along with the timing belt, the balance shaft betl.
Also, cam seals, pullies, harmonic balancer, tensioner pulley, etc....
This is a not a fair question without knowing exactly how old and how many miles are on the motor.

Why are replacing the timing belt? They are usally change about every 60k.

i had to take off the head in my car to replace some valves my friend bent while he was driving it. so while everything is ripped apart i might as well change it
