As most do...the header gets SUPER hot on my car. Im looking into getting a header heat blanket, like seen below.

Has anybody used something similar on your car, NA or FI. Looking for feedback on how well they kept the temps away from your intake and just overall views on them. Thanks!

Eh, IMO, don't waste your money unless you're going to get it thermal coated.

why do you say that?

wraps and blankets DO work.

Well guys..i found a really nice solution to my intake/heat issues. I found an intake setup that has a nice heat shield setup. Think i'll get that. Two birds with one stone.

dunno if this helps, but, while i was picking up a bov from exreme psi i bought some header wrap. i wanted to see how good the stuff worked also. (i used it for my sr not a miata, if that matters) so i wrapped the manifold and took the car out, really revving it out, trying to get it hot as possible. after my fun i got out and i actually grabbed my manifold, and i could have left my hand on it all day without getting burned. from my understanding (could be wrong) is that lower temperatures would slightly increase psi. figured it would continue the exerpiement so i got another manifold and didn't wrap it. yea i temperature was a lot hotter but i didn't really feel any difference in performance. conclusion? waste of money

Waste of money? no. High intake temps dont HAVE to increase performance. But they will cause PING, which isnt what im after. My intake sits right next to the header, and people who run headers with an open filter experiment ping in hot conditions/hard driving. Waste of money..i think not.

ahh i didn't know that the intake sat directly next to the header. i didn't read the link because i figured it was just some random exhaust wrap and not a pic of the engine bay. yea definitely get the wrap/blanket then. sorry don't know anything about miata's, was just giving my .02 from my sr lol
