So I've begun to put more thought into the suspension area of my WRX.
And I realize that tires make a big difference on the car too.
However, I would like to have a decent supporting setup to aid future tires on my WRX.
And since I have an odd affection for the Cusco STi, have been lookin into their products.

The Cusco Zero-R coilovers have a spring rate of 5 on the front and 5 in teh rear as posted on GNV Motorsport's site.
Which seems a bit soft. However on the Gruppe-S it reads 7 front and 5 on rear.

However to my point, TST WRX owners (which there are a lot of), what is your setup and what is the spring rate of said springs?

I'm running Eibach springs and AGX Shocks great improvement over stock and still soft enough to be a daily driver. Not sure of the spring rates off the top of my head, but I have the AGX's set to 1 in the front and 2 in the rear.

I'm running 04 STi struts/springs/tophats on my 02 wrx. Its a huge improvement over stock, very compliant for the daily commute, and was pretty cheap. I got all for corners used for 350 bucks.

It also leaves me with enough clearance to get out in the dirt.

5kg is 280 lbs., fyi. its pretty rigid... my tein flex (the older style) are 5kg front and 5kg rear... i wouldnt exactly call the ride 'comfortable' but man the car is extremely flat on acceleration, braking, and cornering. i've ridden in matts sti which has the newer version of the tein flex which have 10kg front and 8kg rear and honestly i thought the ride was quite similar to my car.
with all that said, most people really dont need coilovers... do your homework on a quality strut and spring setup and it very well may go above and beyond what YOU NEED them for.
i'll be happy to help with any other questions, or if you're at a meet and want check out my suspension setup then let me know.

I haven't ridden in any suspension modded WRXs.
Actually the only car I've ridden in recently with any suspension mods is Francesco's S2000.
When he had Tein's and now the Zeals.
And his suspension is pretty stiff. I believe its 8 front and 6 rear.

I personally like Tien products and would pick them over alot of others. But that is a good deal for Cusco.

I have the H&R sport springs on the STi. They are pretty rigid. More for looks though, since the STi suspension is rock solid out of the box. Nice drop though, 1.4" and 1.3". The rear of the car looks dumped, wheels are somewhat tucked in the rear. If you havent done so yet, its a must that you get some rear endlinks/rear swaybar. You can ask any WRX owner and they will tell you that it will really stiffen the suspension up and its not expensive and is relatively easy to do. Good luck man! Keep us posted!

Yea, when I plan on suspension I try to cover all major aspects.
I forgot to look into endlinks.

How about some GP sports? I've heard some good stuff about them and I heard they are beefy.

Kei Office are some of the best parts for FR cars.
Designed by Tsuchiya, then I hope they meet your needs.

youve been in my car, and you know you get what you pay for...

ill bash Teins suspension products 100%. their cheap and made for the everyday tuner to afford. yes they have some nice stuff out there, but the other companies take a serious crap on tein...

i don't know much about WRX suspension, but i know the cusco is good stuff...

does OHLINS make anything for WRX? Arogasta? Motion? these 3 companies are high end quality...
