Good luck! Looks like it'll be a monster to put it all together and running well, but I'm fully behind the idea.

You should SO make that a rally car, not an auto-X car.

I had one like this several years ago. It was a convertible though. All it needed was a battery and some TLC. If you stripped the layers of dust off it some people might have thought it was a pretty cool car, like I did. My wife and parents disagreed. They conspired to send it to the junk yard, lol.

International Auto Parts, Inc is your new best friend. Let me know if you need help with it. Old Italian cars kick a$$.

Figured that i would get in on the post since the car is titled in my name. thanks for the edit jot... if anyone has an arc welder that we can borrow for a sunday let us know; the body has some definite rust and will need to have a few patches done. thanks

Looks cool. Is it FWD? I would have guessed RWD before I saw the engine...probably since it looks like an old Corolla.

First thing I'd do, since it's already mostly stripped, is replace the wiring. That car is nearly 30 years old and european cars aren't known for quality electrical systems. I wouldn't want to see a frayed wire catch fire.

It is front wheel drive. We are going to pull the whole engine and swap the trans, so i guess that will be a good time to redo all the wiring. thanks for the input

It looks like the wiring has been totally bastardized by previous owners. If you are not concerned about original switches, just use something from Painless Wiring.

new pictures coming as soon as joe gets them up. grinding is a pain in the ass. We really, really need to find someone that has a mig welder. you'll see what i mean soon.

I have a 110volt lincoln mig if you need it. Just get some flux core wire and you are good to go. It is good enough for sheet metal work

Thanks. that will be perfect. it will probably be a few more weeks before we get to the point that we are going to need it, but i will keep you posted.
