It's not bad good school I just graduated from a school that competes with them Universal Technical Institute and it was a good school. But before you jump the gun bro think about things right now the Auto Industry is sh*t right now and is continuing to get worse and worse as time rolls on. I graduated bought 8,000 in tools and a tool box and can't even get a job as a tech because of the economy. So I think I should have left that as a hobby an went onto college and got a degree in something else. Just think about things before you go and sign up.

Be a male nurse, good cash and you work with a lot of cute girls rather then men, cold/hot weather and grease.

Maybe around you out in pitts but come to new jersey/philly area and try it's a whole nother story. I have dropped my resume off at over 40 dealerships and not one call back. When I dropped off my resume they laughed at me some of them even joked and said yea we won't call you for about a year. I was shocked..and they didn't laugh cause I am a dumb person or anything. It's around here alot of dealerships are on the brink of closing there doors or firing people not hiring people.
But some food for thought to as someone who just graduated from UTI thats exactly like wyotech. I payed 22,000 to go to school and a buddy of mine just got hired at a nissan dealership through the grapevine and they started him out at 9hr. When he asked why so low he told him most dealership hire at 9-11 and thats with prior auto experience. I not tell you what to do just some insight. Also about this right now theres a thread in the off-topic called UTI,ATC, LTI will give you some insight as well.

I spent way to much money at Wyotech. I already had a decent idea about cars already too. I still did learn a lot, but it's not worth the money. Start out at the bottom and work your way up. You'll learn just as much and you don't have to pay for it. Now I'm in debt out the ass with a huge student loan payment and no one will consolidate it for me. Not only that but I just got a job at a Subaru dealer delivering parts. Only good thing about it is I will get my inspection license hopefully next month and when that happens first opening in the shop and I'm in. But who knows what kind of loot I'll be making even though I can pretty much do anything on these cars.

i went to ATC and im not going to bash the school at all. you can learn a lot but the school just wasnt for me. employers love to see that peice of paper saying you graduated from somewhere and have some structured training. if its what u want to fo than do it but don let them pressure you into going

yeah, i mean, i have some base knowledge about working on cars and what not because of working on my on, basic stuff. so i wanna further that knowledge and goin to school is an option for me, reason being, trying to figure out a major at a college that best suits me isnt goin anywhere, and i love cars and im fascinated with ever aspect, so thats the direction i wanna go.

I was the same way man. I'm not a student at all. I'm all hands on. If I just got a job after I paid off my car I'd be pulling in 75 flat rate hours a week and making really good money right now and not be in debt. Like I said though I still did learn a lot and I had tons of fun there too, just for me I could have accomplished more by not going at all. Good luck with your decision.

I graduated from Wyotech, and because of going there I have my job now.
I don't do a damn thing with cars. I did work on them for a while, but I didn't make much money because even with the degree, you still don't have real experience until you've worked at an actual shop.
Now, I work as a Wind Energy technician, Got hired on because I can do fiberglass, and they needed people that could do fiberglass repairs on blades. I took no classes that used fiberglass. But, someone I went to school with did, he got the job first, then recommended me. I put Wyotech down on my resume, listed the courses (Collision/Refinishing, Chassis Fabrication and High Performance Engines) and got hired. Truthfully, I work on my car more and have more of an interest in it now that it's not my job. When I was doing it every day for work, I barely wanted to touch my own. Working on cars for a living is a good way to kill a fun hobby.
i went from barely topping 20k/year to making 75-80k.
I would not have this job if I never went to Wyotech.
Networking is awesome, you can do it at any college you go to.
I think Wyotech is a good school, you can learn a decent amount. There are a lot of people that go there and just party and barely pass. (Especially the Blairsville campus) You gotta do your best to keep your head focused, get through with good grades, and make good friends with the other people doing well. People will always pay to have their car fixed. I forget the exact amounts, but basically, people would sooner pay repair bills than have a new car payment.
