I have been taking my dog to the same groomer for the past 2 years..I used to drive 45 minutes each way just because I know they did a great job and they had experience doing show dogs..My dog is not a show dog however there is a haircut they are supposed to have specific to the breed. I can provide literature which explains exactly how they are to be groomed with full illustrations and it even includes the blade that you are supposed to use and where..I have not been able to get ahold of my regular groomer and I fear they have went out of buisness. For this eason, brodie has not had his hair cut in quite awhile and I have not been able to keep up with brushing him and he has some knots that I am not really good at getting out..If anyone knows a groomer that you may think I will be satasfied with please let me know..I can be a bit anal about his haircut but I will pay a fair price for a good job, as I know it will take a bit more time..
If anyone knows anyone prsonally that is a big help!!

These are just dog groomers I know do great jobs. I would ask them if they know how to clip/strip a Schnauzer.

I'll post more when I think of them.

I know but I need a grooming table and a 300 dollar pair of clippers, and who knows what else..I am an idiot like that..
Also, I do not have him stripped at all..I just get him shaved down to the undercoat, and then they just do his legs, belly and beard with scissors...Not to difficult but I have seen people who are supposed to be good totally mess up his pimp haircut!

Liz, could you just tell me the one I should call first because most likely I will end up going there..I am too nice of a person turn a place down sadly:)

haha. Its def an investment, but imagine how much money you are saving in the long run.

Cherrybrook (http://www.cherrybrook.com/) has great prices. Thats where I got all my equipment from.

Just FYI, Animal Inn had a cancellation and has an appointment open for Thursday...

Not sure if you ever went to the Fresh Works meets in Richboro, but the place is just a bit up 2nd street pike from there. Its almost right across the street.

That picture is from awhile ago..He is ridiculously scruffy now, but he sure keeps me warm!!! He never snuggles as much after he gets a haircut and he does not enjoy being pet as much with short hair..weird lol..Schnauzers are like humans in so many ways..He is always pushing the envelope..

Ok these are from today..His left ear went down because of all the hair weighing it down..Oh well..Usually when he gets them shaved it stands back up..But here he is in all his glory.

Funny you should say that, my old lady went through this thing where she wanted to get a Briard, and although I love them, I do not have the patience to take care of a dog that is THAT scruffy/hairy lol...Alot of people think he is a Bouvier because most schnauzers are the mini's and most standards are salt/pepper..
