i had one... years ago, but no longer. probably even tossed the permit itself.

If i remember correctly, i was able to go to an auto notary and get them to renew it and print a copy out for me based on my normal license?

But again, its been a few years... what is the best way to get this permit again? I'm looking to take the safety course and maybe get a bike in the next month or two...

Go to the DMV? That'd be the easiest way. If you are genuinely interested in taking the PAMSP you'd better start looking into it as the classes fill up very quickly.

Just go down to the DMV, take the 20 question test (easy) and be on your way.

Happy to hear more people are interested in buying bikes. Just don't buy a supersport as your first bike... stick to actual beginner bikes!

going to look into finding a used Honda Shadow Spirit... there is a DMV on the way home... not sure of their hours, but i'll pull in and check them out.

I was getting ready to sign up for the class, but they require a permit id... so as soon as i get the permit, i'll be online signing up for the next earliest class i can get into. then save up the 10-20% for the bike and go buy one :)

I'll say this again...Bikes are Not like cars...the Dealers dont Need you to have that much for a downpayment...Hell I had 2 grand and my Salesmen said it wouldnt change the monthly paymetns at all if I put that as a "Downpayment" It's on a Credit Card so basically if you get a promo on the rate for like...2 years at 6.9% then after that it goes up to whatever they have in the CC Contract.

But you could go there with No money and walk away with a bike...Trust me.

I traded a Car for my first bike...

But Then I realized I wanted a NEW Bike (Which I'm sure will happen to Scape)

right, but it does affect final payout on the CC and the limit needed. I'd assume less needed to put on the card = lower card limit = better chance of getting said card ;)

my credit isn't exactly the best, though it is getting better.

i'll probably end up around 3-4k

You would think...But it didnt in my case either...I asked.

I signed the papers then my first payment I put 2k towards the bike.

But hey At least your being smart about it going through the class and getting your papers...to many ppl riding without there licenses (i used to be one but smartened up)

You can get regular financing as well. I purchased my first bike on a Kawi card. My second bike I financed through a bank.

Get your permit and take a class they are actually pretty fun, free and if you drop the bike no worries =p + its always fun to watch the girls ride most of them are so dumb and cant ride ex shifting with out the clutch and hanging on the handlebars when they fall over thus burning out

I might have to retake my permit in March probably. I almost failed the vision test last time, stupid eyes suck so bad even with glasses. Hopefully I can take the lisc. test before that, don't permits expire after 1 year?

It's a lot less expensive to just get your license than renewing your permit!

in Jerz i didnt sign up for the state provided training course I just showed up and they take 2 or 3 people depending if someone didnt come, I got right in and in 2 days had my license. everything i knew already but i think it was worth it,,

there are 2 kinds of riders,, the ones that are going down, and the ones who've been down,,

Go to the dmv and take the test. The safety course is a good idea. i was riding for a few years and then took it and learned and pick up some really good things. i was told that you need really good credit in order to get a finance a motorcycle. I guess they look at it as not a necessity.
