I just ordered a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSI studless snow tires for the STi. Anyone have any experience with this particular model tire? I've been told they're the best. I had Blizzak's last winter on my old 02 WRX and was very happy with them... just got tired of the Q-rated mushy sidewalls.

I know many people who use nokians and are VERY happy with them - many of them rallyists, so they're not your average know-nothing joe consumer. personally, i'd buy a set if i could afford them.

Cost is why I didn't get them last year. At $189 each, it can certainly hurt the wallet. This year, however, they are a "business expense." As much as I'm not a big fan of snow and winter (my company is open no matter what), I kinda can't wait to see how they handle. Hopefully it just doesn't snow until some time after I get them mounted. lol

Many guys do swear by Nokians. Especially the Hakiapoletta's. Most will regard these as the best snow tires money can buy period. All of their tires are tested extensively in Scandinaivia.

Where'd you end up ordering them? I've heard the grip well, but don't wear quickly. I'd like to test this on my tire eating saab.

I ordered them through a local tire shop in Brewster, NY. I've heard of a bunch of people getting them through www.tirefactory.com though if you're interested in getting some.

Yeah, i have never heard a negative thing about the Nokians. They are pricing, but like mentioned above, they are extensively tested and are very popular for ice racing.
