Well I'm getting a new car this coming spring and I'd like some good ol' TST opinions! If you know anyone who has good deals going on for unmolested/stock sti's or evo's I'd love to hear about em! i'm contemplating a few cars in the $20-$30k range:
-2005-2007 sti
-Evo 9
-Lotus Elise
-Corvette Z06 C5
-E46 M3 Drop Top
-Mercedes 2003+ SL-500
-2005+ Mustang GT
So if you own one of these or know of troubles and high notes too I'd appreciate the advice! And if my list is lacking, feel free to add! After all, isn't that what tristate is all about?

wow, the mustang seems a bit out of place in that crowd haha. The biggest question, which no one has asked yet, is what do you want out of the car? Just a comfy DD? A DD that doubles as a fun car? A car just to rip around in on the weekends? Cuz they all fall into different categories.

very true. I want something something that is somewhat confy to DD but is still hella fun on a consistent basis. As far as the elise, I can see my self DDing one and will def test drive one soon. As of making the list, the M3, the Z06, the elise, and the sti are my top pics- in that order.

Personally, if it were my choice it'd probably be either the M3 or the STi. Being able to drive in bad weather FTW.

QFT. My choice would be one of these.

I would go with either the elise or an 07 sti. daily driving the elise might be harsh but if you like that sort of thing then go for it.

is this for a dd? i wouldn't recommend an elise for a dd at all... that's got to be horrible year round... my vote would be for either the evo or the sti with the vette being the second option.

Well it's sort of a DD. I'd prob DD it up until winter and then get like a $600 beater ha. I think I could deal with the Lotus all year round but it is pretty damn impractical... then again it's a lotus!

Yeah I miss my old bimmer sooo much! Luxury + performance =:mrgreen::cool:

problem with the elise though... no storage space... personally, if you can't afford the elise and something else, i'd stay away from the elise... but if you can maybe get like... a 2-3k car that runs well enough for ****ty weather and for moving **** around... then i'd get the elise

A lot of these are personal opinion, but here is my take on these cars:
-2005-2007 sti - Played. Half of TST is rocking either this, or an Evo
-Evo 9 - (insert segway comment here) - See comment about STi
-Lotus Elise - Great car, handbuilt. Friend of mine has one, LOVES the car, minus the turn signal coming off for no reason???
-Corvette Z06 C5 - Another awesome car, TONS of potential here.
-E46 M3 Drop Top - Not a fan of BMWs (my personal opinion)
-Mercedes 2003+ SL-500 - Look for an S500, or S600 (if you have the money to spend)
-2005+ Mustang GT - Again, played, and probably the most generic car on the list. It is leagues better then any previous generation of Mustang, but at the end of the day, I personally think they are just boring.
Take of this what you will, these are soley opinions, and nothing here is based on fact.
