I have an unbiased and uniform dislike for basically all windshield banners. I think her car is looking its best in its current state. Especially when they have some corny saying or they just say what kind of car it is... its like... thanks, I'm certainly better off after having read that.

i agree. whenever i see "volkswagen" or "honda" or "Focus" etc. across a windshield, i just think to myself.. yeah no sh*t. lol.

a few girls i know got those girliegirl racing decals. they're smaller, less obnoxious, and come in all kinds of colors. IMO it's still not something i'd like to see on any car, but better than a big pink VW on a dark green car haha.

what about instead of some logo or words you just put a piece of pink vinyl on the windshield (a big pink sun visor)

I think you should tell your girl that she needs to give it up for a month straight every day if you're going to be seen riding around in a car with a windsheild banner.

why would any sane individual get a window banner with the name of their car? are they getting paid to advertise the car brand or something?

that's what my dad always said about me wearing logo t-shirts lol. he always said 'how much are they paying you to wear their name on your shirt?'

lol i hate the windshield banners also, and dc2.2gsr is right, the girliegirlracing stickers arent bad, i bought ones for my gf's car and she loved them, the only thing i like on the front of a car is a black tint strip, i think they look nice

yeah he's quite the character... to say the least lol.

to the OP... you realy should try to talk her out of anything pink on her car. a tint strip is nice.. or some other smaller sticker if she's set on it.

i think u should get her a silver girliegirlracing decal, for either quarter window, that where my gf put hers and its a decent spot for it, just my .02

haha wow. i didnt realize there was this much distaste for them. she has been wanting one though.

and her car is basically hello kitty right now. seat covers etc. pink furry sound system. something pink isnt going to make much of a difference.

what about this?

i feel the same way about writing volskwagen across the top lol but i couldnt think of anything else. i like the idea of a club or tuner brand.

just so you know, you can get a ticket in PA for the windshield banner, it has to be transparent for some reason.

sarge or bane can confirm this or prove me wrong, but i'm 99.9% sure that there are no restrictions for banners, stickers, tint, etc. above the hash marks on the windshield. it can be lettered, solid, translucent, or just tinted. if there is a law that says you can get a ticket for things above the marks also, i've never heard of anyone ever getting hassled about it. the only issues someone might run into are with their inspection mechanic. clear field of view is defined as the 8.5" x 5" rectangle directly in front of the driver. anything else is a judgement call. if the guy inspecting thinks the banner interferes with the driver's vision, then he might not allow it.

I remember back in my graphic arts we were talking about windshield banners, it's legal as long as you don't go below the A5 line...but for me, that's like, almost half my freaking windshield.
