Ok...I have a car that I dont want to fully insure. Even just liability is like $200 a month! The car is an 84 300D Mercedes. I only want to drive the car once or twice a week MAYBE. Ide say less then 50 miles a week. Is there any kind of insurance for me, I have Allstate btw. I hear that with Classic plates, you can only drive a certain time of the day and blah blah blah. Whats the deal? I cant afford $200 a month for osmething im hardly going to drive.

Classic tags require mileage restrictions, so plus for you there. But you have to take pics and show the car is original and in good condition. Is your policy only in your name with your daily car? If so liability only one the second car should be cheaper.

yeah, having that extra insurance is a good reassurance..... no matter where the car is.

There may be something for you --- shoot me an email jonathan@wrightagencyinsurance.com and well talk. I dont write insurance in NJ but can help point you in the right direction for sure.

If anyone else has any insurance questions or wants to see if they can save some $$$ over what you are paying now, give me a call! :)

try collector car insurance like grundy or hagerty. (google collector car insurance - there's a ton of them) They don't usually have mileage limitations you just have to prove that you have a 2nd car to drive as a DD.

That's what I'll be doing with my S10 once it's back on the road. They only charge like $300 a year for full coverage.

They had the cheapest rates I could find when I was your age and lived in NJ.

You may have trouble getting collector's car insurance since you are only 20. Most of these policies are for drivers 25 and plus. You might be able to get something though. You never know til you call. Insurance for my GTO is about 200 for the year, but I'm 26 and have 0 tickets.

But yes you can have two separate insurance companies. My LGT is on Geico and the GTO is on American Bankers.

damn, that sucks... i had full insurnace on my s2000 and my ae86 for 200 total. i think liability on my s14 is about 15-20$ a month... i think you need to get nationwide on your side.
