View Full Version : Crashed the new WRX -- Stupid Snow Drivers

Well, I already crashed the new WRX.

I was driving home tonight and it was snowing. It was a long 2 hour ride home tonight... although it was nice to see people were going cautious and going about 10 mph.

Well, about two miles from where I live is an intersection of 145 and Main St. in Walnutport. I'm coming down the hill, I cross over the traffic light and this driver in what looked like a red honda civic never stopped at the yield. Lovely. So me being freaked out, I hit the brakes a little hard... I managed to miss the stupid driver, but my passenger rear tire hit the curb pretty hard.

The driver in the civic never stopped or slowed down... so I went to go after him and I was pretty much driving sideways so I stopped at a fire hall and called 911.

I cant believe I didn't get his license plate... it never crossed my mind. I just wanted to take a wrench to his forehead. Toretto style.

The cop was very cool at least. Said he loved the car and was looking to buy one himself lol. After I did a quick look over, it looks like my rear lateral link/control arm is the culprit. It pretty much looks like a U.

It just freakin' sucks... the first rear snow covering the ground and I was looking forward to take the car into the parking lot and taking out to christen it.

Sigh, I guess its a good time to at least upgrade some parts?

Just kidding man trying to lighten the mood, that sucks and i would of felt the same way, and try to chace them down too...

Are you going through insurance or what, if you do least it wont be collosion so shouldnt be to expensive

Let us know whats up, did you file a police report about the red civic?

Yep... I got it on 12/6... lol.

Really the damage doesn't look bad. There is no body damage which is nice... just a wheel cocked at a 45 degree angle pointing outwards just never looks good. Driving it home in teh snow for two miles wasn't fun the least bit.

sucks man, sorry to hear... hopefully its just the one arm took all of the impact but definitely inspect it well to make sure everythings straight after the repair. you'll get to play in the snow soon enough :).

Ordering up some Eibach Pro-Alignment rear control arms, whiteline endlinks and eibach rear swaybar. I wanted to go with Perrin, but funds are short at the time :(

you are better off skipping the Perrin anyways. Just make sure to get a good alignment when you get it back.

Found the part at a junkyard for $65 :D. The car is back up and running! Had the saw the old one in half and unbolt it because it was so fudged up. I'll posted pictures. Luckily, everything else was fine :D.

But man she needs an alignment :O

I consider you lucky. Body work > mechanical work. In terms of $

That sucks!
