Picked up another sponsor

Do you call them your "sponsor" just because you buy something from them and get stickers?? I see lots of people doing this same thing, but get nothing in return (still pay normal prices).

yeah i've seen a lot of people do that as well......guess it makes them feel special to say they are "sponsored" b/c they got 10% off of a purchase of something :shrug:

they are giving me a VERY generous and deep discount.....i'm not sure as to whether or not i am at liberty to discuss the exact percentage, i will get back to you on that one though

the sponsors that i have so far are full sponsorships, this sponsorship from Endless is my first partial sponsorship (but partial is a rather mild description :-p)

You don't have to tell any exact percentages, I was just curious :supz: A small company/shop talked to me about being a sponsor, but it involved having a huge sticker on my back window, as well as testing a brand new nitrous product. The product didn't look to safe, so I kind of felt like I was getting the shaft if the deal went through.

Good for you though, parts aren't cheap and any way to make this sport cheaper is okay in my book :banana:

yeah i wouldn't have taken that nitrous "test subject" sponsorship either lol...unless it was in writing that they were going to rebuild my engine to my specs and buy me a car of my choice when my car burned up from their new nitrous kit :rofl:

btw your cobra is very clean......excellent mod list :supz:......are you running the stock final in your car? what do they run a low 3.xx right?

congrats! i=jealous. how does one go about getting a sponsorship? i always assumed it had to do with racing and that not only would the company be getting free advertising but that also a portion of winning proceeds would go to them or something :confused: i imagine its not hard for you having a very original car... but clue me in! (i keep waiting for someone to notice how AWESOME teh wagon is and throw some deals my way, but i have a feeling i'll be waiting a loooooooooong time)

i have a formal proposal written up that i submit to companies......its mainly a few bullets of how sponsoring me would benefit them......and then the long as s schedule i have consisting of car shows, autox events, and track events, it also helps that i daily drive my car :wink:

As for Endless though, I called them up over the summer to get some info on a set of coilovers they make, and they proceeded to tell me that they would "love to see some of our parts on your car".....i told them i would too lol.......and they offered me a sponsorship :eek: :jawdrop: now that I have the car here i have followed up with them and they are still interested in sponsoring me (obviously)......my sponsorship (full) with TWM Performance, was also offered to me.....I approached CarV2 about sponsoring me (full) and they liked the fact that I will be attending a large number of shows, and since they don't have any of their cars attending a lot of shows this helped in making their decision

basically, if you have a car that stands out (something unique done to it, a very rare car, an uncommon platform to mod, etc.) and you have something considerable to offer the company/shop that nobody else has to offer them (success in racing, show attedance, major title sponsors, etc.) then other companies/shops will be more inclined to sponsor you. Bottom line though, it never hurts to ask, the worst thing that could happen is that they say no right?

Dan, Endless requires all of their sponsored cars to run specific vinyl at the same spot on their cars (for uniformity)......its not a big deal to me though, the rest of my sponsors are not dictating where i need to run their vinyl......for street use it will not be so blatant that it takes away from the car itself :wink: but for shows and what not, i'll probably rock some BIG vinyl for CarV2 and perhaps Endless, and then take it off before i drive the car home :-p
