Well i can finally wrench on my car. I got a blacked out grill and a used neuspeed intake. Its not much but now i get to pop her cherry with her first mods. With the intake i can hear the factory diverter valve. Am i a ricer for wanting to hear air? just my ramblings for the night

ha almost every WRX guy i know does the 'intake silencer mod' which in theory will allow the stock intake to flow a little more freely, but the real reason is because it gives you that intake sound and lets you hear the stock bypass valve and turbo spool. its all good...

Hell, I have domestic, and I put a blow off valve and an intake in, pretty much just to make it louder! lol. But the intake did help performance a LOT!

You're not alone man!!! I got the Injen Intake (3") to let my turbo breathe better and get more air than the stock airbox, but I must say that I too wanted to hear the stock surge valve! I didnt even need to install my MOPAR BOV Conversion Plate cause the surge valve is so loud people swear I added a BOV. So now I have a MOPAR BOV plate sittin in my room if anybody knows someone that wants one!

Once I replace my intercooler with the AGP Direct Fit which should hopefully be tested and available by the end of the year then I will swap out my stock IC pipes with hard pipes and install an HKS SSQ BOV.
