All new cars are going to have a high ass belt line , sloped windshields, because of the new safety standards/regulations. And no more pop-up headlights because of pedestrian safety rules. Thats why the new vette does not have 'em, neither will the new 7. Regardless unless this thing is dog balls ugly, I'm buying that ****. But then again Mazda will probably leave it NA and it wont make the power it should and then I wont.

I like the direction, obviously the fine details will be nothing like the real thing..Mazda rarely dissapoints in asthetics..I have total faith the the RX7 will be a world class car again..I said the same thing about the evo x when everyone was complaining..

They shouldnt try to make the rotary economical, cuz they will ruin the car. They should just let it rip and say f*ck economy.

I think they can find an easier and more efficient way of getting rid of lag. The last time I ever heard of an electric turbo was Garrett's E-Turbo, and I thought they scrapped that idea like 6 years ago, or at least never put it in to production.

Props to them for not going back to the complicated sequential turbo design, but if they're worried that much about lag, then they should just throw a small supercharger on it, or carefully choose a better turbo...rather than making things weird/unnecessarily difficult...

...but I think they have more important things to tackle first...like the guy who designed that car. Ugh, do not want.

I'll believe that first post is the new Rx-7 when I see it. I don't think it will look anything like that. There are so many 2010 Rx-7 threads on rx7club.com it's not even funny. Hopefully Mazda gets it right this time....The Rx-8 is way too slow and gets horrible gas mileage.

no hybrid, no e-turbo, no 3 rotor ,no twin sequential junk setup, none of that.

Yup, you are most likely correct. As much as I can wish for a NA 3 rotor....I know it's not gonna happen. I'll just have to build my own :)

The first one is the mazda kabura concept from a few years ago. I really like it, but thats personal preference. Anything else out there is just renderings of what other people (NOT mazda) think it may look like.

When it does come, it will have the 16x, which is a completely new design. More eccentricity, less width (in piston terms longer stroke, smaller bore) so it has more torque as well as a smaller surface to volume ratio, so less heat loss, quicker CA10-90, and thus greater efficiency. It also has a larger total displacement, direct injection, aluminum end and center plates so lighter weight. Gonna be a fun engine

there hasn't been an RX-9 yet. Mazda's rotary cars are the cosmo, R100, RX-2, RX-3, RX-4, RX-5, RX-7 and RX-8. 9 has not been used yet.

That photoshop of a possible 9 looks pretty good, its basically the kabura concept with a few tweaks to the lights and character lines. Probably the most realistic possibility I've seen so far anyway.
