Why's the back piece black?

I scraped my passegerside door and took a chunk out of one of them. So I fixed it and painted them black because I couldnt afford real paint and it looked better than trying to find a close red otherwise. to keep it uniform, I painted both because one black one and one red one would have looked stupid.
