This is more of an opinion. I'm heading to the track today hoping to break in the 13s. I have so far Helix Catback, DC-Sport Up-Pipe, Intake, SBC Stage II clutch, & MBC set at 15.7psi. I've run 14.2 with a 1.95 60'. Wat do you think I could run today?

correct me if i am wrong, people who are more knowledgeable than i, but i am pretty sure you can comfortably go up to at least 16.5... i think mike was actually pushing 17+ when he ran his 13...

I wouldn't be worrying about your boost, I would be worrying about your driving. Work on your 60'....you need help with that ish. You can easily cut a 1.7-1.8 on a half ass launch (Ask Ash, Allie, and Jerry about this one) and run high 13's.

And I believe Karl ran/is running around 17 psi and he's in the 12's. I am not sure what he ran before his turbo kit and similar upgrades to yours. I think in the 13's whether it be mid/high.

P.S. If you can "afford" it I would go with a test pipe (or do what I did, test pipe with a gutted cat welded over it. For inspection purposes of course). You will pick up a couple mph's on your trap.

test pipe = "race pipe"

14.5 @96.5 mph with a 2.11 60'. Not bad considering it took me three races to get the hang of the new clutch. Wasn't beating the crap out of it like i did with my stocker. But I'm happy with the trap speed. Oh well..next season..

Or you can rev it at 2-3k, slip the clutch a little. That's my new thing this year. Actually, I keep the revs a little lower than that, lol.

Clutches are cheaper than driveline parts.

Spinning all four tires is better then bogging the car....someone who is not experienced in "slipping the clutch" will bog. Better to come out like a bat in hell then to sputter, stall, and embarass yourself. Plus a lot of members on here are close to stock or don't have 600-700whp to worry about drivetrain parts once they catch traction.

you don't need 6-700 hp to break an 02 wrx tranny =/

Mehhh I was thinking more of the suspension drivetrain aspect then the tranny drivetrain.

my trannny is going strong with 290 whp, over 50 launches at atco + a bunch on the street. a 13.07 1/4 and the weak 02 tranny. Oh and stock clutch and turbo.

Apparently 227 is just at the breaking point.

Tonight i ran 13.5 @100 mph. I'm so happy. 1.9 60' Cel came back on, comes on at 85 mph and the car hesitates for a sec. then keeps going. Its pissing me off. I'll be fixing it tomorrow hopefully for Tuesday!!!

Yea, because you know my stock whp is just madness...don't blame me because I know how to drive.

Congrats on breaking into the 13's! I still wanna see some 1.7-1.8 60' though...
