5 bolt flanges

Well im a tad confused about this. some of you know that my car came with two garrett turbos that both looked to be a standard t3 with a 5 bolt flange. I ordered a new turbo that was a standard t3 with a standard 5 bolt exhaust. i got 99% done installing the turbo it again and the DP didnt fit the new turbo.

Today i went to mock them up in my living room again and found that only 3 of the 5 bolts lined up properly. the downpipes flange seemed bigger then the turbo.

i have been told that the turbos i had were either volvo or ford style. i dont have them anymore to compare but i know one was a garrett TB03. the other i traded to 2slowmx5 and its currently for sale on here.

Im about to just order a new t3 flange and have my DP cut up however i just figured id get some info first.

seriously... no one has any info at all that could be useful? i just bid on a paid of obx t3 flanges online so hopefully everyhing will work out okay

I don't know how bad they're off but did you think about redrilling holes in the old flanges?

yeah i did.. but they are so cheap... 5 bucks plus shipping for a cast steal flange...

Well yeah but now you have to cut the old flanges off and have the new ones welded on. It's very possible that the wastegate tube and downpipe tube will need to be reshaped as well.

if they are so cheap then what is the question here? The best idea would be to drill new holes to make it fit. What else do you want to hear?

Just if anyone had info about the non standard t3's such as the ford or volvo style. I dont want to drill the flange because i can just get another one and have it welded on. its less of a hack job. also they are the same thickness so i wont have to modify any other part of the DP.

careful, a lot of ebay flanges dont exactly weld real well

sounds like the DP flange is a t3 FORD STYLE 5 bolt flange
there IS a difference- you're gonna need to get that cut off and a new one put on.
