My friend totaled his g20 the other day, and is looking for a new car. He wants somthing sporty, preferably fast, must be stick. We have been looking at alot of Dsms and 240s, but havnt found anything yet.

I'd say you're on the right track.

If I only had $3 K to work with, I'd definitely get a 240.

Check autotrader and check eBay. Just treat eBay like you would anything else. Only look at cars close enough to inspect before bidding, etc.

with winter coming up and 240's being RWD i dont recomend getting a 240 at this time. the dsm would probabyl be his best bet especially if it was a gsx awd

800 it's an 8v 5spd only thing it needs is a heater core which is bypassed right now so it runs just fine.
(core is included in the sale but not install)

Does run, hes gotta fix the ignition. Will not pass inspection because of the tire wear itself. I can probably get some pics of it tonight if ya want let me know. Body is pretty mint, interior needs some work.

don't get me wrong I can point you in the right direction but, 240 community is a close nit community. we don't want to see some armature total a car without a good reason. (parts are hard to find as is) i've see some people don't even want to sell the car unless u had/have a 240 already/before and know what you are getting into to: maintenance, rust, weight distribution, etc.

Salvias tend to travel in packs and sold in inner circles.

not to sound like a dick, but if your not going to help me find him a car, then dont rub in that you can but wont. Eventually, he will find one, weather people on here help or not. he already did find one and was a bank trip away from buying it, but the kid wouldnt let him take it to his mechanic to get a compression test done. it was smoking bad, and the kid was saying it was just because it sat for a month, which was total bull**** because when he brought it back from a ten mile test drive, it was still smoking. so we wanted to take it to his friend shop to get the compression checked to see if it was the rings or the head.

i understand that they are becoming really rare, but you dont know anything about this kid. if you want to help him me out and send me a few numbers of 240s that are for sale, awesome, otherwise, dont bother rubbing it in.

Not sure if this would of interest to anybody but I know someone who is selling an 85 VW Scirocco for $1,000. It would make a decent daily driver and its also a decent autocross car. Heck, you might even be able to get it for less than a grand. He would like to get rid of it asap.
