I got a t3/t4 turbo that needs a rebuild. I found the rebuild kit from gpopshop.com for $90, but it also needs a compressor wheel. Where doth one findeth thine compressor wheel?

T4 is just the flange on the turbine housing really, it doesn't dictate the size/shape of the compressor wheel.
I'd contact www.turbochargers.com who is a vendor here, and see if they can help you. Try to establish if repairing this turbo is cost effective or not before diving in though...

I thought what made it a t3/t4 is that its a t3 exhaust side for quicker spool and a t4 compressor side to make better boost. (better as in, more boost w/out straining the turbo so much)

Thats bit misleading, honestly. T4 is a specific "family" of compressor wheels. For instance, a 50 trim t4 wheel is bigger that a 5o0 trim t3 wheel despite the same trim ratio.

240- Yeah, more or less. A t3/t4 has a t3 exhaust housing(note that there are some t3 housings available with a t4 turbine wheel) and a t4 compressor. T3 and t4 exhausings do overlap though. For instance, a .86 t3 stage V combo might have similar spooling characteristics as a .58 p-trim t4, so it is'nt a given that the big t3's are faster spooling. The best way to size a turbo is to first match the compressor side to the engine's ve. Then, size the turbine housing to the purpose of the car and the desired spooling characteristics. But it's a comprimise, as too small a turbine in comparison to the compressor might not only choke it up top, but induce surging as well.

I'm only looking to make somewhere around a modest 300 wheel or so. Even anything close to that I'd be happy with.

a t3/t4 is always cost effective to rebuild. Those damn things work with anything lol.
Dann- check out www.gpopshop.com I get all my rebuild kits from them. Good prices and they have everything.
