well ive come to a crossroads.

i love my s12, but i found a cool 85 fb rx7 that i want.

only problem is, ive never driven an rx7 and have no idea if i will like it or not.

the rx7 happens to have an sr in it, so that makes it a little sweeter, but i just dont know if ill like having the solid rear axle.

i want a car that will be awesome on the road course, maybe hang the ass end out for extended periods of time too...

anyone give me some words of advice?

anyone ever drive an FB? how are they? hows the steering and how does the chassis feel when you throw it around?

ive been driving nothing but IRS nissans for a while, and i just dont know how the solid axle will be. someone, please help.

honestly solid axle isn't that bad...They can still do well on road courses. For drifting, its a bit different but can still be done for sure. Really with drifting its more about the car itself then the axle, wheel base, etc. (except I suppose taking into account bumpy/uneven conditions) I'd say just do it!

MOTHER****ER!, the 85 GSL-SE with the blacktop in it? guy finally put it on ebay. For that money, the car is a steal, if I had extra cash and space it would be mine, in fact my homie was bidding on it too lol.

Oh the car slides fine, plus it has stock lsd I think, turboII brakes, basically 300zx brakes in nissan rice terms, and it weighs like 2200lbs, it should go like stink with the sr in it.

They had issues with steering rack play, I think the guy actually mentioned it has it, there should be loads of info about it on rx7club or I think you can just swap the rack out to the FC rack, since the gsl-se's came with 13bs thus for whatever reason I'm thinking the racks are interchangeable. My friend has an FB, so if you ever need help and/or parts shoot me a pm.

As far as steering and chassis, fb's are basically rwd eg hatches, many of them are still raced today and are very competitive, the car should be disgusting on a track.

Oh also look into the rear sway bar removal, apparently makes the car more neutral in handling, etc.

Better yet rx7club.com, just dont tell them it has an sr in it lol.
