I was looking around and just happen to see this phone's review on Youtube.com.....Anyone think this phone is good at all? The phone looks huge from the youtube reviews but then it could posssibly be the same size as the sidekick.

Mine just showed up yesterday. It's not as big as a sidekick. That's what i'm upgrading from. It's just a bit bigger than an ipohne. Working your way around the menus is rather easy. Web pages load rather quickly over but can be a bit of a pain to zoom in and out. So far i'm rather pleased with it but i've only been playing with it since yesterday afternoon.

I got a chance to use this phone for a half hour at tmobile the other day. I will wait for the next one so they improve some stuff on it.

Its not as user friendly as my sk lx. The only plus is the ability to watch youtube videos. The screen is junk and so is the camera. The os has potential but needs some upgrades.

I totally agree, it seems like they put the phone together cheapily ie. the screen and outer case. The android OS or the first Google OS def has some potential and im sure the next gen phones of this OS will be much more imporved than the G1...But will the G1 really compete with the Iphone probably not at first, however smart phones like this have been out for awhile HTC makes the G1 am i correct? HTC has a ton of better phone out there in my opinion such as the Tilt. So as far as phones go this is nothing new but as for OS's on a phone its pretty cool to see new smart phone OS being distrubuted

That's like the pot calling the kettle black about the screen and camera. The camera on my sidekick absolutely sucked. The one on here is def better but still not as good as actually having a digital camera. I think the screen is a lot better than on the sidekick. Clearer and bigger at the very least. I will however say i do prefer the buttons on the sidekicks keyboard. They were raised a bit more.

The dialing is definitely better than on the sidekick though. Having the dial pad on the touch screen is a lot better than having to flip open the screen and use the buttons on the keyboard like the sk. If a number wasn't in the last 10-20 calls that was in the memory of the SK it was just a pain in the ass to find and call especially while driving.

def tempted to get a G1... but I think i'll wait for the next generation of the phone. till then... i'm thinking blackberry pearl, tmobile dash, tmobile shadow... and if the tmobile wing wasn't $300 WITH the extension I'd probably go for that.

yes it has a icon right on the main page for maps. From there you can switch between these modes. Map, satellite, traffic, and street view.

It's rather quick. I don't believe i live in the 3g area but i can't be certain off hand. It smokes the sidekick in terms of page loading times. Where it would take a sidekick a minute or more to load a page this has it done in 10 seconds or less. A fresh address search in google maps took 7 seconds to be fully loaded on the screen.

Yes it has gps, if it didn't how would it be able to follow along on the street view as you moved?
