Good point. If you walk in with $100k, I'm willing to bet you'll walk out with something pretty decent.

Does she want to pay the full $100k or just up to? There are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many luxury sedans for under that price I wouldn't even know where to begin. Does she want to spend $50k, 60k, 80k? I mean $100k or less can you buy you the vast majority of vehicles on the market.

Okay since you're being serious I would recommend the Audi A8. I just love the MMI interface and for me it is very intuitive now. I have ridden in an A8, 7 series, C class, E55Amg, and a Lexus LS. While the LS is very quick, there is something that feels to robotic about the interior, and I just don't feel any passion in it. The E55 AMG is nice but that is a sports sedan, not a "calm" sedan. The C class is also nice however I prefer the AWD "Quattro" that Audi offers because it is always nice in bad whether. The 7 series is a great car, I just hate I-drive with a passion (I've used it and the new Idrive on the new 7 series *not out yet* is a lot better).

So I would go for the A8 in conclusion.

The MMI on the A8 and Q7 are pretty much identical so I have been using MMI for awhile. Also if your mom is looking for more room go for the A8L but I don't think shes going to be transporting kids at this point.

Edit: She can also go for the A6 and save money in the process. I rode in an A6 to Penn State and it also comfortable as hell. Oh now I remember one main reason why I don't like Benz, they aren't comfortable. My friend and I drove up to NYC in his Ml350 and honestly that "spot" between the rear headrest and window isn't comfortable at all. Call me crazy but that's how I sleep in cars.

Edit 2: There is always the Jag XF but I have not ridden in it much less seen the interior so honestly I can't comment.

how about u cut the bs and let us talk to your mom, are you telling me your mom told you to go on a web site and ask people pick a car for her. like shes gonna listen to us anyway.

for under 100k and not something sporty id have to pick a 5 series bmw with awd. maybe a 7 series is she likes to waste money.

but if i had 100 grand for a car, the possibilities are endless, id go with the new M3 or maybe an M5

Tell her to get the LS460L... Simply amazing.. Since your mom doesn't want a sporty car then I guess the handling performance doesn't mean much to her.. Everything about the car except the handling is simply amazing.. She won't have to worry about electrical problems like the Audi, and the customer service when getting the car serviced is the best! It is definitely my favorite luxury car(below 100k)...

I seriously doubt someone, about to drop that much $$$ on a car would give such a vague description of what they want/need. so its prolly 100K miles.
But if it is $100K tell her to get a Merc S550 or a BMW 750 or an Audi A8 or the Lexus LS460 if she wants to get her money's worth, otherwise, u can literally buy almost any type of car for that amount so use ur own F*&king imagination cuz it aint that hard. that is an absurd amount of money.

and finding a car under 100K miles is so easy that a monkey with a stick shoved up its a$$ poking out its mouth in its final death twitches could do it.

last time i checked this is the HOME OF THE TRISTATE AUTO ENTHUSIAST...so therefore i posted this because im sure someone here has ridden in an expensive luxury car, what i wanted to find out is which one is the best choice, instead of just going out and buying an expensive ass benz to find out its a piece of crap

The LS460L is too "robotic for me". Like you can see the money that was put into the car but for example the little pull down things that you can hold onto (It's early I'm blanking) feel cheap and crappy. I'd say A8 / A6 / 5 Series / 7 Series.

they are pretty cheap.. and its a good mom car...

SRT8 ofcourse.

jjm4life
10-17-2008, 06:11 PM
problem is 100k sedans are massive.. audi a8, benz s class, bmw 7series, maserati quatroporte, all huge cars.

moving on, 100k smaller sedan.. well more like 80 or so, youre talking high end sports sedans rs4, e63, m5. and he said not too sporty

so for in the 60-70k range you could have the standard version of those cars fully loaded. merc e550, audi a6, bmw 550, new jaguar is getting good reviews.

you might not know sh*t about cars but odds are mommy's friends all have cars that are nice and in her price range, so im sure she has a decent idea as to what she wants.

Ive driven the BMW 7, the audi A8, and the Mercedes S500, and id have to say that my favorite was the Audi A8, its a big solid car, but it feels light when u drive it, it is fast, but its smooth, i found myself goin over 70 on this 45mph road by accident multiple times, but as an overall car, its fantastic, best car ive ever driven on the highway, and 2nd most comfortable front seat, only to the $200K Bentley GT that i test drove. but they are all nice as hell once ur at that level of car.

yo i know this may be hard, but convince ur mom to increase her price range 22 fold and buy one of those new Bugatti Gransport convertibles, or like a Merc CLK GTR, or a Porsche 996 GT1, u know, if ur gonna spend alot of money on a car u might as well go ALL OUT. come on dude if ur gonna spend 100 grand u might aswell just throw all ur chips in and spend a few mill. live ur life ALPHA or just jump off a bridge!!!!!!!!!!!!
