I recently picked up a nice beater in a 95 civic 4 door ex 5 spd. I have a few questions if someone could answer them. First off could someone suggest a good online parts place for regular maitenance stuff like timing belt, clutch etc. Next question is has anyone run Redline MT-90 gear oil in a stock tranny? I have read up on various honda websites like honda-tech and superhonda but i can only take so much of which tailights look better crap. Last question .....anyone got a B18c5 i can borrow? :) Thanks guys/gals

I don't know about online, but a place that's kind of close by that i had EXCELLENT service and dirt cheap OEM parts, was A&H motorsport (http://www.ahmotor.com/) and i ran MT-90 in a stock 89 hatch, with no problems.

I used to have a D16, but it has been a long time. If you are going to stay N/A I would go with a H22 not the B18. If you ever need help doing a swap or anything, let me know.

OK everyone. I have decided to neglect this D16 motor till it blows. I am wanting to do either a B16 or B18 swap into the 4 door. I want to get a decent mileage motor and trans with the harness and ECU and keep it below $2500. Can it be done? Will i even need a harness due to the fact that it is already wired for Mad VTEC powah? Ahh and i bought it so i wouldnt spend money on cars. Vicious Cycle.

If you do the work yourself, that is easily achieveable.

Don't buy from Osaka. Read up on them on Honda-Tech and see how "happy" people are with them.

Your best bet is H-motorsonline. I've heard mixed opinions about PasswordJDM.

H22= Don't even bother with it. It sucks. I had it in my old hatch, I wasn't impressed by it. The torque is nice, but that is about it. You will be just as happy with a B16 and bolt ons, as you would with the H22.

Or build the D16 and boost it. They can be fun too.

Hey Hopper i was waiting for you to chime in. I will be doing the work myself with a few friends. Maybe just a nice B16 motor with a few bolt ons that i can rev the crap out of it and have fun. Im not looking to win races but maybe surprise a few people here and there.

swap for your crx... obd0 b16 w/ cable tranny swap... $1875. Includes motor, intake manifold, alt, starter, clutch, flywheel, exhaust, distributor, fuel rail injectos, tranny, ecu, shift linkage (would need to be modified), Hasport mounts, and the (correct) axles you would need (not additional).
I also have a set of Hasport shift linkage for that swap in stock but would be extra. LSD would be $300 extra as well.
If you do not want the hasport mounts, and the correct axles and would want to source those elsewhere, price would be $1475.
ZC DOHC Long lock only would be $650

hey travis, my buddy is swapping in a b18c5 into his 95 civic right now. He just got the motor today. The whole deal is costing him 3500 , he needed to buy some stuff, he bought his motor from a place in florida that offers a 90 day warrenty from the day u install it. pretty sweet. but yea. let me know and i can find out where he got it. It came with the ECU, harness, all the pumps, clutch and tranny... all kinds of **** , it was a good deal.

Looks as if I was right on what B18. I knew there was no way he was paying that price for a legal b18c5  knowing that... I could have matched if not beaten that price. :wiggle:
