I only know of one copper colored 1g (considering that wasn't a factory option--they are rare). It definitely seems like it is well taken cared of. Supposedly, it's fast too. But aren't all DSMs, lol. :)

Not sure if it is even the same one but he was running on 3 cylinders at one point.

And if Tim kept up from a dig then the Olds must have been hooking really nicely or the DSMr wasn't really trying all that hard.

Even stock, a DSM should get a good 1-2 car head start from a dig on most cars, on the street, with everyone running street tires.

RWD > AWD....

and I don't think 3 cylinder DSM's runs mid 13's either.

If you got an LSD and sporting some nice sticky tires and have the opportunity to heat them up.

Otherwise, with everyone running regular street tires, especially winter tires, I would have to disagree.

And if you launch a DSM hard it tends to run a little better through the rest of the gears.

Many years ago I raced a modded Porsche 944T with a bigger turbo. We must have raced a couple dozen times. If I launched on him I stayed ahead of him. BUT, if I took off easy it was real close. Several times he even pulled on me by the end of 3rd.

We took it to the track and the best he could muster was .6 sec and 2 mph slower.

Thats my buddy Craig. The car is darn near impossible to get into 2nd gear. In fact, the only way to get it in is to baby it in there. I'm actually selling him a tranny so he can send it to Shep and have it rebuilt. So the only thing he can do when he is racing is take off real hard, baby it into second and then proceed to mash it. Maybe why it didn't appear to be runnning well. He does take good care of it though. He used to be a painter and he did that car himself. Anyway, i'll forward the compliments.
