Smilies?

I have noticed a lot of people have posts with the smilies. And for the life of me I don't see anything when you reply to a post about smilies. Where are they located at?

If you look at the lower left of where you post, you'll see a box called posting rules.

If you click the smiley link, it opens the page to show what you need to type between two colons (:smiley: ) to make a smiley.

why no smiley selection like nasioc? just curious. if i use them i open that page and just cut and paste...

actually all of the 'old' members (like anyone who registered before a month or two ago) have their default setting to not display smilies, and i cant change that for everyone.
you can change the display yourself though... go to 'user cp' up top and then go to 'user options'. at the very bottom select 'standard editor - extra formatting controls' and save settings. from now on anytime you're replying to a post (excluding quick reply) you'll have the smilies lined up next to the text box, with additional ones only a click away.
