11 an hour is kind of low do they negotiate?

most of these types of jobs do. It always depends on experience and what not.

I figured they would but I was curious. I have been trying to change my career but even if they negotiate that's still half what I make now.

$11 an hour is about right for a job where you don't need experience and responsibilities aren't super critical.

I just got off the phone with a friend of mine...

up until a few days ago, he was working for the express doing graphic design and such, helping with ad layouts, etc. until he was fired for having non-newspaper related illustrations (comic book characters and other stuff like that which he draws) on his computer.

Also, I used to deliver papers for the express when I was still in high school. I can't tell you how many things are wrong with the management at that paper, so people who are even thinking about taking this position; be careful who you hitch your wagon to.

yes, he is. In fact, I'd go so far as to say he's probably one of the most decent people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He's a good friend and a great person. He'll be alright, he's also one of the most talented people I've ever met, so I'm sure he'll find something way more satisfying and in line with his talents.
