hello all. am from millerstown which is in hick central(hence the sn). its about 30 min from harrisburg along 22-322 towards state college. i was curious if there are any other people in the area?

i own a 2001 BMW 325Ci. slightly modded...nothing special.

Yeah, I know where millerstown is. I am about oh 45 minutes to an hour away from you. Sometimes I make deliveries in Newport, than I have to go to Mifflintown, so I pass right by you on 322.

haha cool. how you like that newport detour crap? or have they finally finished it? its like 5 miles away and i refuse to drive there for anything due to that crap. you might have seen some of my dad's handicap school vans around then. blue lettering 'G&S Trans'. we're mostly in harrisburg/enola area though. what kind of deliveries you make?

That detour blows. I have to try an make that with a 50ft. tractor trailer. LOL Sometimes I gotta just sit in the middle of the intersection and wait for people to back up so I can get around the corner.

I'll give you a hint, our slogan is "we do what works for you", and the detour goes right past our store.

weis? i'm bad with slogans but i think thats it....? anyways, i'm glad i'm not the only one that drives for a living to pay for their car and mods. how is the pay for that? i'm getting tired of working for my father even if i am the 4th gen to operate the garage and school busses. :( need something new...maybe on the weekends at least.

Yeah, I drive for weis. The pay isn't bad. I think I made around $45K last year. The only bad part is that they don't hire off the street, you gotta work in the warehouse before they will let you drive for them. I think the waiting list for drivers is about 3 years now, I'm not sure I have been out of the warehouse for a while. The best part is that I am only working about 30-35 hours a week. Sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less.

can you give me a ride in that srt4? a few vdub guys i know from another site talk how slow the srt4 is compared to their cars. i need my own opinion of it.

Just as a comparison. I went to Beaver right after I got it. I drove in off the street and didn't change anything. Same tire pressure, full spare, jack, you know just left everything normal right down to the paper filter. My very first run was a 14.2@100. My slowest a 14.9@96 when I missed third gear, and my best run was a 14.1@99. The thing about that is that I was on the brakes through the traps because I was bracket racing, so it could have been better. My fastest run of the night was a 14.2@102. I am pretty confidant now that I have some seat time under my belt I can click off a 13.9xx.@10x. My 60' were very bad. My best was a 2.9xx

As far as top speed, with a nice long flat strait stretch I have had it up to 152mph. It pulls pretty good up to about 140-145 and starts to loose some steam, after 150 it just doesn't have the power to try an keep it going. It will probably go a little faster, but it would take to long, so I didn't see the point in trying.

hmm...now i'm thinking the only way they are doing anything against an srt4 is with the german engineering...they know how to get torque out of engines..at stock my car was 190hp(approx.) and its an auto but spanked the doors off a 5.0 mustang...kid probably didn't know how to drive :)

Nice, I had one run-in with a 92ish lx (5.0) We went from about 70 in 3rd gear with me behind him. When I saw him hit it I did the same. He had about a car on me, but i was switching lanes to pass right away. By the time I was shifting into fifth around 120, I had him by roughly 2-3 lenghts. It is a rough estimate, I wasn't turning around to see how much I beat him by. I know when I came around him, I was easily walking by though. I shut it down around 125-130 to get off my exit.

He was pretty cool though, we both waved at each other. He also happened to get off the same exit as me, and gave me a big ole smoke show when he turned the corner.

one of the mechanics at my dad's garage has an '88 5.0...even without that little blue bottle of hp....it would smoke quite a few cars on the highway...he just can't get it to hook up from a dig. his speedo goes to the peg in first and still has plenty of rpm before redlining it.... :( i will never bash a 5.0 because of him...just the drivers :mrgreen:
