I just turned 21st, and had half a can of beer. I get pulled over for a headlight out. Cop asked for consent to search the car, which I declinded. The cop brought a dog, which didnt alert on my car. The cop gave a field sobriety test which I was told I passed. I got tickets for driving with provisional license and headlight ticket. The car was towed and impouded. The tickets say a court appearance is required. What should I expect, and why is there a court appearance requirement? I read that the headlight ticket is not to exceed $25, but could not find any info on the provisional license. The statute states that anyone under 21 cannot drive after 12, but am I considered to be 21 since today is my birthday, or is it the fact I still have a provisonal license? Thanks!

You have to go to motor vehicles and get a full license. It dosen't change automatically.

understandable. I plan on getting my license taken care of Monday morning, along with getting my car out of the impound lot, and fixing the headlight before my court appearance Tuesday morning.
