I previously had 2-1/2 TB of disk space and have managed to fill it. I store a LOT of stuff on my computer. 1 of the drives will be dedicated strictly to backup of my photos, the other is just for expansion of software, music, movies, etc...

It's full of video clips of "11 second DSM's" that run 12's. just kidding. I have a lot of photos, video, and software. I could probably free up space by getting rid of the project files from the videos, but i'd rather keep them so I don't have to completely re-edit the video down the road.

so is the sb900 really as huge as it looks in pics? i wanna see it mounted on a d40 so i can lol.

Tim, have you ever thought about RAID drives? With all of the stuff you store (and how cheap they're getting, which I just realized recently) it might be a good idea. Having one of those drives take a dump would really suck.

The 14-24 is out of this world. I'm sure it's great even with the 1.5x crop and will be even better down the line when you go full frame.

yeah... i saw the two drives and assumed they would be redundant backups. i HIGHLY encourage you to back up everything onto 2 drives, especially with externals which are only somewhat reliable at best. i always buy my externals in pairs and treat them as one drive... always backup! its not if a drive will fail, its a question of when...

How are you liking those Seagate drives? For 200 a pop they seem like the way to go.. I Wanted a Drobo (http://www.drobo.com/), but its almost 500.00 just for the Drobo it self.. no drives.. Plus another 150.00 for a 1TB drive.. And im sure id want more then just one drive (they hold 4)

I wanted another speedlight for portablility because the Alienbees are a bit much to lug around all the time and I'm preparing for when I go full-frame.

It's only 2.6oz heavier. I haven't noticed a difference in it yet, but I haven't had it on for a full-day event yet either. Time will tell how much of a toll that 2.6oz takes on my back and wrist.

Its all in your head... just tell yourself that its 2.6oz lighter. 2.6oz isn't really that much especially when you have a sweet ass flash like that.

It's not in my head. I have an 8GB card in there that gets REALLY heavy when it's full...and when I zoom to 200mm, the shift in glass makes it heavier towards the front of the camera and it really sucks.

2.6oz doesn't seem too terrible. I'm already to the point I can't uncurl my hand from the shape of a camera if I've been shooting all day and my whole arm aches... another 2.6oz can't do much more to me!
