So I got fed up with all the red x's floating around and decided to do some research on the reason for this.
As of now I don't know why, but can only speculate that it has to do with the recent server switch and that the Admin is trying to remedy the software related problem.
I did however figure out that if you use a hosting site(PhotoBucket for me, but there are others..Imageready, Snapfish, etc.) you can link to the picture you want to put up there.
I uploaded the pictures I wanted to do to PhotoBucket, simply because they have an image tag bar under each pic for inserting pics into posts, and a URL tag bar for situations like the avatar problem.
Simply copy and paste the URL of the picture into the space at the bottom of your profile that says "Link to off-site Avatar". You HAVE to make sure the pics are a MAXIMUM of 180 X 180 pixels and NO BIGGER than 29K.

I hope this helps a few people out in trying to express yourselves on TST.
