Thats nice numbers on 18s. A bit better track condition it would have been 11s.
Demonicbird00
08-29-2008, 06:31 PM
yeah 6spd. its still stock and im putting 456 to the tires. when you get more power its better to get it built. i love the 6spds and will never run an auto lol

He gained 30 mph in second half too, from 92 to 122. I wonder what size rear he is using?

Just as I figured. My evo will hit 96 in the 1/8th and then proceed to fall on it's face on the back half, partly due to shifting to 5th and the stock turbo being out of it's efficiency range..Looks like your car has me covered for the time being..Must have been fun fighting for traction though with the street tires:)my best is a 10.99 on DRs
in the 1.8 w/ my DRs im in the 97mph range

Nice setup, I use the same size tire also, G-Force T/A. Works well on street also.

What size tire you have in the front? You ever consider getting skinnies, like a 26" tall tire?

09-01-2008, 12:14 PM
Rob, if you asking me then I'm on 18X255s and waiting for Rich at Fuzion to sell me his CCWs 16" on the back with ET Streets and skinnies up front. I used them once and liked them.

Mike the car has run in the 8's. As fast as 8.76@153. But a lot of racers are wondering why they are running quicker down at Cecil than Maple. There is a little downhill at top end and it's more close to sea level. Maple is just a tenth or two slower.

He gained 30 mph in second half too, from 92 to 122.I think that's what he'd meant/was referring to, he was just using some metaphorical comparisons I think.

its a 185/60/15 its a lil wide on the 3.5" next set will be 165Yeah those 185s really are too wide for those rims. :bigeek:
You wanna buy my old skinnies/tires, they're Weld Pro Stars (only slightly bent ) but with very fresh 165x15s on them, I'll sell them cheap cheap.

The smaller the tire, the less rotation it needs to get moving. Would mean higher rpms on the top end but possibly quicker times as well.

That thing must be pretty sick on the highway. Picked up 33 mph on the back half thats pretty quick.
You said you have weight redux? How much does your car weigh just curious.
Rob let me know when you are going to the track, like to see it run.
Yeah, Rob. I want to see you run it too .

I've put 700hp through mine on 11-12psi. But it would be on borrowed time. I ran a McCloud clutch and it let go after about 4months.
Thing you have to remember is you can't go into 5th/6th with alot of power unless you get one built up.
However let it be said I've seen guys trash their trans with 500hp power shifting. I don't power shift.

correct, but that doesnt really affect the front tires like what ls1lt1 is talking about, they are still 26" tall fronts
car weighs about 3200 w/ me in it and a 6 pt bar (thats track prepped tho lol)

Haha Mike WCM3 is a friend don't worry haha.
And Demonicbird how much does your car weight without you? That sounds kind of light for that car. I have an '85 camaro that weights in around 3180 last time I checked without me and stock suspension as well.

3060 w/out me
theres guys getting them down to the 2700 range but they are crazy and complete race cars there are also a few that are around the 3000-3100 that are street driven too

Jese that is light BlackZ05. I still have the stock A-arms, K-member and some other things that could be swapped out an lost like almost a hundred pounds. I have some stupid subs in the back that are just dead weight too. They just look nice. It all used to work til one day just wouldn't turn on.
