Being that I am a Detailer, my car gets hand washed and hand/air-hose dried 1-2 times a week and hand waxed every 3 months on average.

So my question to you, since a small percentage of us have access to garaged wash bays for any time of the year, is how often do you wash your car?

Also, HOW do you wash it? IE: Do-it-yourself Car wash, Yourself in the driveway, Drive through car wash, or have someone detail it?

The poll will be on how often you wash it, and how you do it, you will be able to pick more than one answer (one for each basically)

I wash once every two weeks probably and it's always in my drivway. However I vacuum and wipe down the interior of my car about 2-3 times a week.

well, thats the best/cheapest way you can do it to keep the paint the way it is without repainting it.

I haven't ever washed the Maxima. I wash the Miata every 4-8 weeks. I normally use a California Duster and quick detailer in between washes.

It came out nice since I had it buffed and compunded recently, but it still could use to be resprayed. There are a TON of imperfections that are in the hood, and the buffer just won't get them out. Plus when I bought the car, it had one of those bug-flector things on it, and where it met the corner of the hood, it wore some of the paint way on either side of the hood, so yeah, it is in need of a new hood/paint job.

yea but your miata isn't your daily right? so i can see why you wait a while longer than some of us. my msp is a daily so i gotta keep it as clean as i can.

I hand-wash my car in the driveway once a week, regardless.

I'll usually do a full detail (sans buffing, as I don't own one) 2x a year. Once in the spring, and once before winter.

wash the stealth once per month, on average. it gets driven mebbe 10 days a month tho.

either take it to the drive through (soft cloth) down the road if i have a free coupon, or do it by hand at the shop... sometimes i even pay one of my gs fellas $20 to give her a good scrubbin if i'm feelin lazy.

my daily driver never gets a bath, other than what nature gives it.

I'm the same way. I don't think I have ever waxed my car besides the two times a year that it gets detailed. As far as the interior goes, imma horrible slob. I just get in my car, and by the end of the week, there is dirt, rocks, and sometimes grass clippings in my car. Amen to rubber floor mats though.

Never wash it. Never wax it. Do vacuum out the interior every once in a while. But once I get a new car that all shall change :)

The Evo gets washed weekly in my driveway. It gets a few coats of Zanio Bros every 3 months. The Mazda gets washed at least once every other week (most of the time it's weekly). It also gets waxed every 3 months.

Both cars get vacuumed every other month or as necessary. Also, both cars have leather, so I condition that every 3 months as well.

I really need to get the Evo to a professional detailer soon. The previous owner didn’t take good care of the paint so the hood and roof are full of swirl marks. There are also spots on the hood and roof that look like water spots, but I can’t get them off.

My paint is pretty bad, but it still has that 20-foot shine. (Ya know where ya stand 20 feet away and say "Well that looks pretty good"). Most weekends I have the kids in the car, and they just get hand prints everywhere. Outside of the doors, windows, places I can't explain how they did it, everywhere. Think I'll be washing again tomorrow.

May thru Oct it's driven 4-5 times a week. I use the Maxima when I'm taking longer drives out of the state on weekends.

The elantra gets washed...oh, twice a year? Maybe more if I'm feeling spunky....I love silver cars!

The 240 has yet to be washed, but thats more out of fear that the paint will come flying off it I do.

I'm usually whenever it gets dirty, or whenever the OP details it for me

When its dirty, but that usually ends up being every week or two (by my standards). I wax every three months. All in the driveway.

my car sucks....has to be washed at least twice a week. My wheels have to be washed every other day or more. But my rear bumper has to be wiped down every day from my huge melon shooter of an exhaust. I'm scared to let it get bad and stain my paint.

I only wash mine when really needed.

Detail every 2 months (including buff job, etc.)
Wash every month unless otherwise needed
Otherwise it stays clean enough for me to just use quick detailer and other waterless products on it

Ive had the car almost 2 months and its only seen a sponge wash 2 times, once the day I got it at the dealership when it was detailed, and once in my driveway a week ago when I had to scrub off some stuff on the lower rockers and wheelwells and stuff

I can totally appreciate that, my 18" Centerforces's get dirty if I even look at them wrong; makes me want to keep wipes in my car to make sure they stay blangin'. But, dude, you can't beat white on white on gloss black, it's the ****.

The beater, I washed it once since it needed a little wax. The other car is in the garage, it gets washed when it needs it. That is about once a month but it depends on where, when and how hard I drive it.

Riiiiight...does that mean the rain comes out of a pressure washer with soap?

Usually only wash my car once a month or so on the exterior. I try to wipe it down on the interior every couple of weeks though.

wash and vacuum on average once every week.... weather permitting of course. I used to wax it, but that was when I still had a clear coat, lol.

I used to wash my car every 2 weeks and wax (paste) every Friday with quick detailer in between. But then I got shown the Meguires 3 step process (clay bar, cleaner, wax, polish). So I do that once a month if it needs it, but as long as I quick detail all the time (basically when I go out at night I do a quick wipe), I get a good 5ft shine which is cool for me.

I let my interior go until I can't stand it. But I found this Mequires interior spray that is amazing (black bottle, better than ANYTHING). So I do that once a week.

Other than that, I don't get my car buffed ever. Oh and I do this stuff either in my driveway or my friend Matts driveway.

At least once a week and if by chance i get caught in the rain I rinse and dry it before i put it away. I try to wax her once a month, more for practice than anything....

I now have three black cars in my garage , so i have to spend my time on all three...

keeping a black car clean is not a hobby its an obsession .......
