Ok, River Road is just too much fun to drive on....so I would like to do a cruise day...Maybe once a month or once every other week. Basically meet off of 611 in warminster. Cruise up 611 through Doylestown, and then keep going up to river road (32). From there cruise river road to York (263) and get some good food in peddlers village.
Call this a feeler....who would be interested. I would really like to make this a 2 people per car...would make for a good photoshoot kinda day as well.
Who's in and how can you not be? Awesome stretch of road....good pictures....good eats! If I get some replies in here...this will definitely be moved to the Upcoming Events thread and we'll make it happen
Sh!t...i'm down to do this now if a couple cars want to come out!

Not, really, but if you get stuck behind someone, your kinda screwed....so we would have to make an illegal pass around someone. Of course this is from my experience cruising it late late at night

It's a fun little stretch but beware the good 'ole troopers are patrolling.
And being there are no shoulders just ditches on either side of the road you can't really pull over to the side. So basically from New Hope to Wash Xing you need to do 30-35mph while a trooper is behind you with his lights on. The entire time passing cars heading north bound but stopped, I guess thinking your being chased. And your thinking "God damn I'm a tool". And then you wake up from the nightmare.
The trooper was a really nice guy though! :P

Great stretch of road. Did they finish repairing the bit where it meets 611? The Spring Run was originally going to take this route but there was construction at that spot due to flooding.

I dont know. As you come up 611, it bends left and you get jet off straight to a quick right hander...bang a left and its another road that jets you down to 32. Make a right and your on 32 south and there is a small stretch of road with some backfilled pot holes...but nothing too crazy. And its not a long stretch of it. I guess I hop on a little south of where 32 actually connects into 611.

I'm interested. I do those roads all the time solo so it would be fun to do it with others. You can cut off of 32 in Ralph Stover for more action and to get back to 611 again.
All of the roads are in good shape right now.

Looks like we have enough for a cruise. This will probably turn into an evening event. I ran the coarse last night....got stuck behind two cars that I had to blast around. Besides that it was smooth sailing. It took about just under 30 minutes from D town before i turned off 611 to get onto river road. and then that was about another 30-45 minute stretch of driving. Very fun stuff.

The three best roads in the area to cruise are River Road, Ridge Road, and 563. Ridge and 563 go around lake Nockamixon, and are super wide, smooth, long, and just a blast to drive. They also rarely have cops (as those are the roads I go to when I want to ride in triple digits for any extended period of time). You should make the cruise go up river road to 563, then back across Ridge and back down river to peddlers village.

Not written in stone yet. This may turn into something a little "darker". Fewer cars and later at night to ensure there is less traffic for some awesome driving.

If you want to do it I have a few suggestions.
1. Early in the morning. Have the meet at 6-7am. It is light out, cool out, and there is no traffic.
2. From Dtowwn. 202N to Aquatong Rd. Aquatong to River Rd. Hang a right and stop at Bowman's Tower maybe for a picture op. Continue to 95 and get off the next exit for Rt. 29. Take 29 back up the other side of the river to Lambertville. Cross back over at New Hope and take River Rd. north from there. You can then take back roads through Ralph Stover/Tohickon to get back to 611 in the Ringing Rocks area. Go from there where you will.
3. Keep the group under 5 or break up into multiple small groups with planned stops to regroup. It is hard to keep a ton of cars together in a string back there.

Your missing the best part of the road...the merger of 611/River Road up until right before you get into Easton.

I just ran up and down the road last night. It's WAY better now that it's been re-paved. The only cops I'v ever seen on the road are at downtown Yardley and at Washington Crossing State Park.

So wait, your going to get a bunch of cars together, post the route and date/time and blast by drivers that are doing the speedlimit without regard for safety of other drivers who possibly could have their new born child in the car coming home from the hospital? That sounds like a plan for disaster don't you? Can't wait to read the "ask the law" entry for this one.

This is going to be a few cars and people at a much later time....less cars on the road and partaking the better.

Speed limit? You mean the numbers that are in those white signs? Never payed much attention to those
When your running on the shoulder because there isn't enough asphault to support your line.....that's your speed limit.

^^^ Nicely said. I was google mapping a trip last night- starting out of Tyler State I zig zagged, looped, and wound 2 hours and had yet get to break in New Hope for a bite to eat.
Everyone should meet up at 202 and 32 at said time, get there via whichever twisties you prefer. However at the set time we should head north in packs. It will take a good hour and a half from 202 to 80. The upper half is the bestest part.

Hardly. I have to highly disagree with your first statement. 563 is STRAIGHT, ridge road isn't anything exciting, and River Road is passable. Try adding some roads with some twisties; Straightaways are boring and most likely bombed with cops.

There was almost a head on collission on that road when we were getting ready for one of the runs. A delivery truck came across the line on one of the turns and almost took out Cizin.
