Just thought I'd share this:
http://www.chacha.com
You can ask them anything! Through texting 242 242 (ChaCha) or calling 1800-2CHACHA and it's a free service.

I've been a guide for almost a week now and love workin for them. It's a real deal job with the W9 form and all. I make $0.15 a text, the top guides make $0.20 a text and there's even voice transcribers that make $0.04 a call that lasts about 30 secs a transaction. So far I'm at about $26 Some of the experienced guides on the guide forum are making $300-$400 a week with week contests.

If you want to try to be a guide please add cmanzi7790@gmail.com as a referral!

People are always asking the weather, how ChaCha works, directions, traffic reports, horoscopes, stock quotes, gas price questions, mpg for a car questions, medical & health even jokes, you name it!

Check it out!

ChaCha is like having a smart friend you can call or text for answers on your cell phone anytime for free! ChaCha works with virtually every provider and allows people with any mobile phone device - from basic flip phones to advanced smart phones - to ask any question in conversational English and receive an accurate answer as a text message in just a few minutes.

My co-worker first told me about the service and also mentioned that they hire guides. So sure enough I applied, passed their 4 tests and made it to how I am now.

I just applied to be a guide. How many hours have you put in?
Nice! I'd say about 5-6 hours including the morning when it's slow. At nights though it is very busy.

Can you work from home? I would love to do this at school!
Yeah of course! That's what I do, I work at home. I might bring my laptop to school and do it in my spare time if I can. But I don't know how it'll be for me yet being my first year in college.

Yes, "the infoseeker" sends a text to 242 242 (ChaCha) I receive it, find an answer, and the answer is texted back.

I will be applying as soon as I get home from work tonight!

Great!! Be sure to include my email: cmanzi7790@gmail.com where it says who referred you.

everyones jumping at the chance to make a killing 15 cents at a time? eh, i guess it adds up, maybe.
moving this to networking since thats what it is...

now its a free service, so they either advertise in their texts or calls, or they are saving your number to compile contact lists and selling them for a boatload like most companies.

You will need a broadband connection which most of us nowadays have. A firefox browser then once you start the simulator test you'll get a guide toolbar. And getting a clippings add-on helps to make answers quicker.

Guides have a handbook to go by for answering questions.

Yeah it does add up since most of the questions take less than 3 minutes to answer and at night there is a high volume, so once you answer a question you get another one pop right up after. They just make their money through advertising.

Give it about 3 days after your application then you'll get an email to start taking the 4 tests.

Haha, yeah guides can have fun and be a little humorous with answers and may give personal answers too especially if it's inappropriate.

Yeah it's a great convenient service.

I also made top guide a few days ago! Feels great to be the top and making $0.20 now. Also there is a new position available called an expediter. Check this:
Hello,

ChaCha is adding new Guide roles, and after reviewing previous applicants we would like to invite you to join the latest ChaCha Mobile Answers Guide opportunity to become one of ChaCha's first Expeditors!

Expeditors are like the Air Traffic Controllers of the ChaCha world. It's your speedy, savvy work that keeps the questions flying in swift, orderly fashion to the right places. At times, you'll even intercept questions yourself and provide an instant answer to the customer.

As an Expeditor, you sit at the crux of the system, converting all incoming questions into a standard form, determining if answers already exist, and categorizing the questions so they're routed to the best available Guides. We think the Expeditor role is a perfect fit for Guides who prefer a more systematic set of tasks.

What's required? Strong grammar and spelling, excellent general knowledge, fast typing, quick decision-making, and strong reasoning ability.

You might make a great Expeditor if you:

... like solving puzzles (crossword, sudoku, jigsaw), Spelling Bees, Trivial Pursuit,

... like organizing things, putting everything into the right box, keeping your inbox tidy

... like playing games like Civilization, SimCity, Command and Conquer, Total Annihilation

... are fascinated by internet indexes, card catalogs, and methods of organizing data

... like the top-level view best - where you can see the farthest

... think you'd make a good Air Traffic Controller, Librarian, or Career Counselor

... enjoy seeing the amazing variety of questions people ask ChaCha

The Expeditor

The Expeditor performs a more systematic and defined set of tasks than a Generalist/Specialist. We compare Expeditors to Air traffic Controllers because their work keeps everything moving smoothly. Expeditors don't search for answers, they help identify who should do the searching by correctly formatting and categorizing each question.

Expeditor Duties

* Converting questions into a standard form
* Determining if an answer already exists
* Categorizing questions to route them to the best available Guide
* Providing direct responses for certain question types

Expeditor Skills

* Strong grammar and spelling
* Excellent general knowledge
* Fast typing
* Quick decision-making
* Strong reasoning ability

Expeditor Compensation

Expeditors do many more transactions than a Generalist or Specialist. Expeditors are paid a $.02 base rate with a $.01 quality incentive. This quality incentive will be automatically paid out to all Expeditors at least the first 30 days while they learn the system. Pay averages between $4 - $7 per hr.
Give it a shot!

Do you have what it takes to be an Expeditor? Ready for a seat on the bridge of one of the hottest information services in the world? Help ChaCha take the next step in delivering incredible Mobile Answers by being an Expeditor. Like every ChaCha Guide role, work hours are flexible.

To start training, please click the following link and log into the KnowledgeBase with your Guide username and password: http://knowledgebase.chacha.com/questions/311/

Good luck!

You can either wait to get to $100 and have them send you a check, or you can sign up for their bank account and cash out whenever, but that has a fee attached to it. Once you chose your payment, it's touch to change to a different method. However, I only got to $25.00 before losing interest so i wish i would have just signed up for the bank account.

I thought it was $100 sent to your paypal account? Maybe I'm wrong :confused: but I think they had it set up like that originally when I signed up and changed it. I think just getting the $100 into checking account is personally because you get no interest/fees taken from it even if you have to wait a month.
