mck52689, gave me a down payment for my car so i was nice and let him use it, then he gave me more money to let people think it was his while he was waiting for his "loan" well he never came through with the cash, and in the mean time blew up my heater core, so i had to bypass that and sell it cheaper

sounds to me like someone gave him a downpayment to buy his ride. After DP he let the guy use it. The guy gave him more money while waiting for the loan to pan out, but not full payment. While still using the car, the guy damaged it and his loan didn't go through, so OP had to sell the car to someone else for cheaper.
Did I get that right???? lol

whilst i am as thoroughly confused as everyone else, i'm pretty confident the lesson here is:
DON'T "LEND" YOUR CAR TO ANYONE. NOT EVEN YOUR FAMILY. At least, not if you expect to be reimbursed for any damage. You aren't Enterprise rent-a-car...unless you had a contract drawn up, you have no grounds for anything.
edit: wow, i thought DP meant downpipe too. Well, if he gave you a DOWN PAYMENT, the car has transferred ownership (when you were nice enough to let him have it).
You could go to court, but you'd probably lose. You can't PROVE his negligence caused the faulty part...and u have no contract. haven't u ever watched day-time court television?????? this is why all those rednecks are always on those shows arguing about this exact thing.
do you know what a heater core is? I dont think he managed to "blow it" unless he dismantled the climate control system and managed to break it. I think it was just terrible timing which bit you in the ass. dont call someone out for something that was out of the blue.

He is kinda right...Nobody breaks a heater core...I do agree that if it happened while he had the car that he should have paid for it, but you got the deposit atleast, so get it fixed with that and sell it again. I would NEVER consider giving someone my car while its still registered and insured to me!

ok no fails except for me for being a nice guy, vr6's dont have rev limiters, taking it past redline over presurises the coolant flow through it, and on the 3rd bend the the bend is a harder turn so it takes the most presure there and blows, it has been happining on vws since mk2s

Id like to say one thing. Mike did NOT blow up the heatercore, you physically cant do this. Think about how the cooling system works, driving has nothing to do with it. This car was a complete turd ever since he got it. One thing after another went wrong with this thing, and the seller promised it was in good running condition. WRONG. Huge holes in floor board, heater core went. Serp. belt flew off twice, first time after it was bought than another time after seller "fixed it. I personally had to put it back on in the mall parking lot for mike. And I discovered the cause was because the bolt for the tensioner backed out. NO lock tite was used on a moving part!!! A down payment was given on the car, but full payment was not given due to the car being a lemon!!! Would you buy a car that keeps breaking? Driver error was not at cause for the heater core or the serp. belt. Robbie refused to have any of these problems fixed correctly so why whould mike pay to fix them when he has only had the car for 2 weeks? Not to mention there were numerous reports and I personally saw robbie beating the living piss out of this car after mike had given the down payments. I want to remain neutral in this, but there are always two sides to every story so dont be biased with out knowing the facts.

Think about it, when a car over heats, the pressure in the cooling system sky rockets, do hoses blow or metal pieces blow when this pressure is this high? Not unless there is a weak part in the system. Ex. bulging hose, loose clamp, ect. Bringing a motor to high rpm's would not make pressure go up to the point of where things will break. The only moving part would be the water pump, which is strictly to circulate the coolant through out the cooling system. As long as the car is not overheating there should be no reason for pressure to build to a point at which a heater core blows up. Driver error would cause internal motor problems or transmission problems, not something wrong with the coolant system. IMHO I believe both people were at fault here. Robbie sold this knowing it had problems and did not alert the buyer of any of them. He too lent the car to someone with out changing the tags over.

And the fact that robbie is withholding the complete 900 dollar downpayment is bull****, a heater core is not that much to replace, especially when he will be doing it himself!

I would have backed you up, but then I found out you were running you're f*cking mouth about Ali and I. not cool. so I retract my previous statement. erik i apologize you do not fail. robbie is the one that fails hardcore. oh and by the way, wheres the proof you rebuilt the motor?? bc I know for a fact you didnt do a single thing to that motor. you bought the car the way you see it now! out of all your cars that you have owned, you bought them already modded. maybe you should actually do some work to a car for once instead of taking the easy way out and buying something already modded and then claiming you did the sh*t yourself. I drove to conneticut to get this car and the kid you got it from claimed that the motor was rebuilt. but wheres the proof? oh right, there is none.

, mark the down payment was a mere 250, NOT 900. and how does a car i drive daily for 2 years turn into a lemon the day i let someone use it?
amanda not once did i talk **** on you i have no reason to! and i know you of all people dont belive mike. second off all i never posted in my sale thread about a rebuild for the fact that i have no proof, i said its a strong running 175k vr6, and out of curiosity, how many on here with built cars drive them for what they are? if you wanna call it beating a car then fine, i belive it was you driving the car when you mis shifted causing rivets to break on the pp. so talk about beating a car? never said i did any of the work, therefore you post is completely irrelevant
to the rest of you im not posting to argue with anyone, i was just teling you my experience with mike and telling you not to trust him. i told him what the car was from the get go and he was fine with it. i didnt post here for people to bash on my car but thank you

dude you can belive what you want, i have no problem with you, but i will tell you i drove the ca all of 5 miles since i took the payment, so i doubt you saw me beating on it, mike lied to everyone saying he bought it, also lied to me claiming he had the car places he did not, he drilled holes directly into my front bumper, that belive me isnt cheap to replace, and he also offerd to steal your type r head to give to me, then claimed he traded you his old laptop for it? he personaly told me and my cousin kevin to lie to you, i am not holding out on a single person, i am fixing the hole in the floorboard tomorrow, and have a new heatercore in the mail, and am fixing that before the sale goes through with the new buyer sat. also the serp belt came off on me due to the tensioner bearing sizing, also a common problem on vr6's and i bought a brand new tensioner and serp belt, the tensioner came pre assembled from advance auto, i have receipts for both.

I Ride Enjoi(11:22:19 PM): alright what about the body anything wrong?

i was promised the car was rebuilt and sworn up and down the block , i was promised that i would have the help if the car broke down, robbie did tell me the car was rebuilt and was done when the tranny was done, which is a lie due to the fact that his ex gf shelled out 3800 dollars to fix his car and said it was never rebuilt nor was she paid that money back.

I am pretty sure you can't edit aim logging hence why they created it so people could NOT edit it seeing as it comes from aim.com.
I am pretty sure 9-100 dollar bills equals 900 dollars unless currency has lost value to 250 dollars.
your ex told me how she had to pay for your tranny, and how she paid for your laptop and rent which you owe her.
you can keep the deposit if you want robbie, help you buy a conscious so you dont tell people the motor was rebuilt when it wasnt.
I did have intentions of buying the car, but when a seller tells a buyer that he should go swallow a bottle of tylenol pm and that i can go **** myself and fix the problems myself then ok.
to everyone else. yes i admit i should have bought the car whole and it was generous of robbie to let me use it while i finished. but when a buyer does not tell you about the panoramic floorboard moon roof and the lovely engine knock then i figure thats bad sales.

i understand that, but it doesnt make the seller LIABLE to fix the car. sure he can help you, but its still your car.
the grey line is the fact that you never really "owned" it. so you had it (and broke it/it broke on you) and the seller is upset. i feel that if you gave the deposit you either
a) pay up the rest since you put a deposit on it
or
b) leave the car and eat the deposit. the deposit should be enough to fix whatever happened to the car.
