Ok I don't know about you all but how come it seems like people are just arguing with eachother in every other thread now. Sometimes it seems to be about stupid stuff too. We are all here for the same reason and that is to meet new people and become friends with them because we are all interested in cars. We are here to give car advice and to make new friendships along the way. I have noticed that some people bash on other peoples cars when they might only run 15.xx. Well if that was originally a 17 or 16 second car then I give more power to you. That is good to do what most people would not even bother trying. I saw a CRX at the track a week ago that ran 14 something and me not being the biggest fan of imports was impressed. I think we all just need to try and be friendly. That's all my opinion.

Because Rob some people feel they are better then others because of the platform they started with. This a group of many diverse people and not everyone is going to get along. They also don't realize that no matter what car and/or mods people put a lot of devotion into their cars whether it be for show or go.

Nice posts, both of you.

All I can say is if a Saturn, Geo Metro, SUV, whatever pulls up next to me or lines up next to me at the track and smokes me. Much respect

There is always going to be someone out there working harder and going to be faster then you. This is the life in the car world.

It's not limited to this forum.

It's pretty much a general Internet forum thing. When people have the internet to hide behind, it makes arguing about who has the biggest e-penis all the more enticing.

IMO it's all about respect. If you wouldn't say that to someone in person, then don't say it to them on a forum. Of course some people also have their priorities completely effed up and would actually get into a brawl over which car maker is better, which spinners are shinier, or whatever, instead of just writing things off to different taste, and letting that be the end of it.

Oh please that has nothing to do with it. Clint knows i have respect for cars that don't start out as good performers and people make them into amazing cars. I think it is a very broad and ignorant statement saying

I am sure some people do but the two people being like this are me and smoger and to be honest i don't think either of us are prejuduce to any cars. Personally i appreciate all cars and find cars that people put their hearts into to make them better and to make something they didn't start as the more impressive cars then someone who buys a porsche a drives it, it is another thing to take a saturn for instance and make it a amazing handling car and with good power too. I guess this comes into the money of oh he owns a sti and he owns a srt-4 so they both must only car about cars that are at the top of their lines, i think that is totally false. Personally i think that alot of people on this site are closed minded to alot of cars and i think that is dumb and i think people that critizes cars like the one clint posted the other day are morons. Sure it is a saturn but who cares i think haviung a fast car that started out slow is cooler then cars that start out fast and become faster. Anyone with money can put 10k into a evo or a sti and make it fast it takes some skill and some balls and some tough skin to dump that 10k into a saturn or a sohc neon or something liek that and i commend the people doing such things in the world.

So you are telling me that when you make fun of "ricers" and I know you do (and I am guilty of the same), that it's right to do? They probably spend as much money or more on exterior mods to be a show car. I am fine with people who are all show as long as they don't claim that they are fast becuase of those mods. And I have witnessed people talking trash on cheaper cars (not you or smoger either so I don't understand why you took it so personally) becuase they spent whatever more and are automatically faster because of it.

Problems start when one group of people think they are better than another group and try to alienate others.

We are all car people. We enjoy them for what they are and what they mean to us. One car doesn't have to be faster than another to get respect. I only mention this because it seems the faster group is always the one trying to put down the group that focuses on show.

There are plenty of DSMs that are faster than Ferraris or Lambos. But when it comes down to it those cars will always get more respect than a DSM. And someone might spend a lot more on their Mercedes or Bimmer but those people don't automatically deserve respect.

There are plenty of ways to alienate people. It's just another way of propagating hatred. We could come on here and start attacking other people's cars but what would be the point. There will always be better and faster cars.

Personally, I would rather make new friends than make new enemies.

Or the slower cars that are trying to make them faster by telling the owners to stop wasting money and buy a faster car to start with.

STFU! No one cares! :finga:

In some cases though, that really is the more rational decision. The trouble with that is how most people convey the message.

Example question: How do I make my 3G faster?
Good Answer: Add a supercharger from Ripp, or a turbo kit from any number of sources, or, sell the 3G and get a 2G GSX, which will end up with more power in the long run.

Bad Answer: The 3G is a slow POS with limited aftermarket support. Forget about trying to make it fast, you're just wasting money. Sell it and get a 2G or an EVO.

anyone who has seen my daily car KNOWS that i am not a snob(if you can even be one in a 20,000 dollar car to begin with). i think my daily has more rust now than steel. but sandra says that wasnt directed at me or barry anyway so i will take her word for it.

Trust me if you ask anyone if I have a problem with any person they will know because I will tell them. And you guys are not the only ones with $20k+ cars on this site.

I guess what could also attribute to it is the whole American Muscle vs. Import debate that will never die.

i hear you on that one... i couldnt tell you how many times i heard people try to burn on me cause i drive a 3g spyder gs (not on this site or on my other sites)... mostly my friends and co-workers because they can afford a car with a turbo or a s/c. but my car is high, price wise, and i think i could make it just as fast. ex: my buddy and his girl both own vw's... she gets on my case about how her car was 35k and is the fastest thing around, then i tell her what im planning to do and she says its a bunch of b/s and calls me a princess cause i drive a slow convertible. i just laugh it off and go the other way. now if shes like "yeah my cars pretty fast, but it you do this you could give me a good run" or "good luck with it"... i get bashed everyday, you just have to know how to make it into a joke... i bash on other cars but i joke about it cause for all i know he could hand me my a**.
