if you have a tattoo, can you explain where you got it done and how you liked the shop?

thanks

Gemini Tattoo on Philmont Ave. right off of Street Rd near Whiskey Tango. The shop is super clean and the artists are rad. I had guy named Adam finish my half sleeve. he does really nice work.

I went to Mean Street on Street Road for my second. Guys are really cool, the place is reaslly clean and they do great work. My cousin gets all of his work done there, too. I got my first at Jaybird's. They're clean, too, and a little more experienced, but way overpriced in my opinion.

i also went to Gemini..had an asian girl Masami do an arm piece on me.. took 12 hours total, 3 sittings. As stated very clean shop, and the shop owner Kier is a stand up dude, as well as Adam and whoever else works there now-a-days.

Best tattoos in northeast Philly are at Deep Six Labs on grant ave and the Blvd. 4 amazing artists, but you'll pay the price and you'll probably wait months for an appointment.

I went to Tattoos by Bird right on Bristol Pike. Dude was super cool, and from what I gathered, pretty good price wise, and is a pretty killer artist. Shop is cool, as long as you don't mind being stared down by his 16' reticulated Python.

I have most of my body tattooed...so I may have a little insight. LOL I have too many friends who own different shops to go anywhere else. I will say however, if you can get right in without any wait because they're not booked, it's probably because they're not good. If you have to wait a month or two...or three, it's because everyone wants to go there because they ARE good. Of course that's a generalization, but 99% correct.

My first two were done by amateur artists, and the results are as you would imagine, though not terrible. My latest was done at Bristol Tattoo Studio on Route 13, owned by Little Nicky. The price seemed a touch high but I am pretty happy with his work. I've always heard great things about the Inkwell in Southampton and a friend of mine is raving about Electric Rembrandt. Not sure where that is though.

I've had all of my work (mach sleeve and several randoms) done by Wizards in West Chester PA on Walnut St. It has since moved and I am not 100% sure where the new location is. Price was a little high but I was never unhappy with the work I had done and it was an extemely clean shop. I am planning to get another tattoo pretty soon and have always heard great things about extreme ink in west cheser on high street, so i think i may stop in and take a look at their artwork.

Got my first done at Jaybirds in Bristol by Jaybirds daughter......I regret that one. It's not the best shading I could've gotten, but I paid a fair price. I got my 2nd one at Electric Rembrandt in Southampton. The guy Radar did it, its just a passage, but his artwork is sick. I plan to have Radar do my sleeve.

thats why im afraid to get a tattoo, i couldnt trust anyone not to mess up, like said above, if there is a wait, its usually a good place. i know mercury has a 3 month to year wait, sometimes even a wait to get a drawing or talk to someone, thats only for serious stuff like sleeves. what u showed looks simple and since they can get it done in 1 or 2 appointments, u shouldnt have more than a month wait i believe.

yup Past works there, KES did, dont know if he still. Paul Acker (AMAZING portait artist and character artist, check out their site for some of his work), and Mike Hill another all-around good artist. But Pastor is def on another level.

Pastor has a myspace where he has a lot of his tattoo pics posted. As far as pricing, I'm not sure, but dude is that good and in high demand so I'm surew its above average.

Probably two of the best shops in the philly area, have not gotten work from either yet but plan on getting a half sleeve in the near future and would like to go to either one of these places. I have friends that have gotten work at both these places and they swear by either place.

i used the inkwell in feasterville on street road, a few blocks up from davisville road. Their shop was very clean and their people where all nice except for the guy i had. he had NO personality and was like talking to a stick that tatooed very well. i have "carpe diem" on the inside of my right forarm and "vive noctu" on the inside of my left forarm. 100 bucks a peice with a 60 dollar tip. I thought he did pretty well.

Keith and I go to Sean @ Phenomabomb Tattoo in Dublin. Terry (gottalovethewagon) also goes to Sean. They just moved there from Quakertown and the new shop is so clean and nice. They even make you wear booties on your shoes, like doctors do. haha

One of my good friends got his ribs done by rich at the ink well. Im pretty sure it was inkwell anyway. It looks great.
I personally went to Ink Well to get my lip pierced an it just seemed off. They didnt seem to give a **** and it took a lil for them to help me while I stood at the counter (3 of them there, one was piecing someone). Then they ran outta needles to pierce with and told me if i came back at like 7:30 at night i would get a discount but I had work.

I got my lip done at Sink the Ink, i liked the shop alot my friends got tattoos done there. Ill be going there if I ever get a tattoo.

it seriously depends on what you want, but look into Mercury Tattoo in Glenside, Brian and Scott are both amazing artists!

the best way to find an artist you feel comfortable with is by visiting them and their shop and looking at their portfolios!
