05 SRT-4
mods:
map/tip clamp
wastegate
fpr modified to produce more pressure
mbc

issue:
After sitting for a number of hours(ie: every monrning) my car is difficult to start. First time trying to crank over, it just keeps cranking...nothing, no threat of the car starting. I stop, I turn the key again, usually the car starts right up.

Any idea what could be causing this? Could the map/tip clamp be causing an issue? Dirty injectors? It pretty much feels as if the engine just isn't getting any gas the first time around...

sounds fuel related to me, i think it has to do with your FPR mod honestly, it is probably dropping pressure over night or during an amount of time then it takes a lil bit for it to build up again

thats the odd thing... I've had it done for the past 2 or so years and no issues till recently... has been happening for around 4-6 weeks

sounds like the flow back valve this prevents the pressure from dropping in the fuel rail

how do I check this?

most likly the check valve at the fuel pump. if you can get it to start, and have it get up to temp, shut it off and restart it. If it only will not start after sitting a while, its the check valve

the valve is in the fuel pump, not the rail

that's exactly what is happening...

is this check valve in the pump itself, ie... do I need to replace my fuel pump, or something else?

guess that answers my question

pretty sure its gonna be the whole module. the last time i replaced a fuel pump in an srt 4 it came with the fuel level sender and such. When you go to order it just check with the parts dept. but im pretty sure

sounds about right, if you have a fuel pressure gauge on your rail you could know for sure.

Scape, in the future try priming the pump before you start it. Should at least help it start right up.

so, where would be a good place to order a new srt-4 fuel pump?

Apparently when my car gets to around a 1/8 tank and its been sitting for only a couple hours it doesn't like to start... I had to get it started by rolling it and dumping the clutch, fun!

I think I scared the old lady because the car was kinda kicking... so I mashed in the gas pedal... and nothing happened... then suddenly the car started and naturally the tires starting screeching...

so yeah, def time for a new pump, i just don't want to get raped on dealer prices... any vendors have any sitting around they would sell cheap?
