just a fyi, theese cars (group b)were almost as fast around a track as a formula one car at the time, and I think the F1 cars were even faster back then horsepower wise then they are now.

Now you made me wanna go rallying...

yeah group B had no turbo size limitations and no restrictors back then. They were going so fast at one point if you ****ed up you were dead...
Imagine a GT40R on a 2.0L with antilag and never dropping below like 10psi at idle....
*edit* Wait... this was pre-antilag... They are just keeping the pedal to the metal the entire time haha

Nothing comaped to the twin charging on the Lancia with over 700hp, sometimes closer to 1000:supz:
And dead? yes

Not entirely true. Anti-lag was invented by Audi during the Group B phenom for for rallying.
Walter Rohl is rumored to be the first driver to use it :supz:
EDIT -> BEST GROUP B TRIBUTE VIDEO EVER http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYhiJeRPgdw

This was the coolest racing ever done in my opinion. And for that fact. It was soooooo dangerous. The guys that drove these cars had balls of brass.
AWESOME videos

Yes! Without a doubt the most incredible racing ever done in cars. I love how in the one video the narrator calls them 'Group B projectiles.'
I'm pretty sure the Delta S4 Group B car was faster than F1 cars at the time... not positive though. The engine bay on one of those cars is downright silly;

All HAIL the Lancia Delta Intergrale! I am still searching for a good one here in Germany...I am going to drive my Evo everyday until I find one that is not molested, if it takes me another year..I will own one. I want the Evo but if I have to settle for a lower model I will as long as its clean.

That 405 Pikes Peak video might be my favorite car video of all time.

By far my favorite!
I have been looking but they are all beat or rusting out by now and the ones that were maintained are UBER dollars with the exchange rate. Who knows one day I might find one.
Edit: You know at first I really wanted a Skyline. In the past 2 months I have been searching every German forum and car sale thread for an Intergrale, why? 1000 times more exotic than any Skyline out their! I don't care if I can't get it registered when I get back, i'll drive it anyway.

Peter, do you actually have these sitting around in HD? Can I borrow them to rip to my PC?
The Integrale was a beast... Henri and Sergio (American Co-Driver :D) were a phenom. Henri was really talented. Shame they both died when they went off a cliff in Monte Carlo in '86 :(.
Group B was banned several hours after they both died.

It's BS! I would of loved to see the class of new rally cars had they had the chance too. It sees more and more safety keeps getting in the way when most of these guys want to go faster. Just ask them and they will say yes.
Last time I checked a man has the right to decide his fate?

I hate rally drivers because they make it look so easy.
IMO, they are the most skilled drivers in the world, and everytime I watch a ralley vid it makes me realize how much of a crappy driver I am. :(
