After waiting forever, finally picked up my FMIC from bradc the other night and mounted it up. Thing looks mean

Note: I know its a little off center, it has adjustable mounting points so fixing it shouldn't be an issue.

It needs to be flat black. :D
And god damn, that's a huge FMIC for that little turbo.

That's what I was thinking! Do you have a built motor that you will be running some serious boot with a bigger turbo, or was the size dictated more by what would fill the opening in your bumper.
Looks good either way. If you want to make it flat black, Swain has a coating that looks good and is actually functional.

haha, it's a big core but the piping is really short route and direct. i'm acually kind of hoping that it'll create even just a little lag considering how damn fast the turbo spools, i'm constantly in boost! :o

the core is kit is acually based of the kit perrin made for the MSP a few years back. this is bradc's kit and he had dyno tested it against the perrin and it came out with the better numbers.
hopefully, i won't see any heatsoak anymore

I'd probably throw that black mesh screening back on the bumper to help protect the intercooler....especially if its driven a lot. My intercooler is beat to hell with bent fins all over it b/c of bugs and stones smacking into it while on the road.
It definately looks awesome...nice car

Looks good. Mine is supposed to be going on today but I don't know if that is happeneing yet. Don't paint it flat black because your car is real clean looking and the polished look is much better and more attention grabbing.
Also just curious as to what the two red circles are in the grill? I know that is a stupid question but I also saw them on that sick black STi that is the car of the month...

Meh, its ok I guess. We both know that my Perrin is so much better. I'm just messing with you, I'm glad to see that you got it and installed. I know you waited a while for it, but I'm sure you will love it. Looks great.

I don't think the fmic is too big. it covers the whole space so it looks good. I'd get it painted black though

thanks guys! i'm not going to flat black it, but i am going to run black mesh to block out crap from hitting the core so that should take away a bit of the bling ;-)

I agree with not painting it black...those tend to look like **** after a while when things start hitting the IC and chipping it off.
I actually said on my post in pg 1 to use the black mesh screening...i think that will look a lot better

the stuff he had on was from the previous owner. Hes going to add something to cover it up soon enough
especially if its driven a lot
:bigeek:
No justin rarely drives the MSP. I don't think anyone here has ever even spotted him now that I think about it.
FMIC looks sweet man, I know you've been wanting one for awhile. Now more idiots will say "SWEET SUBARU"

you've already earned it.
is it possible to trim off those tabs in the corners? thats kinda catching my eye. not sure what they're for though...
looks good though, i think it looks real good in silver, fills the opening nicely.

the tabs will be trimmed but they were also the spot the mesh before mounted to. This was the test fit and everything mounted but he has to do some chopping of the pipes. Its a deep core no wonder why it out performs the perrin kit!

Don't be a bitch. Don't paint it black, and don't put a mesh screen infront of it.
Oh, and big intercoolers UNITE! :-p

The core is the same dimensions as the perrin, the piping is also the same. Nevertheless that FMIC is awesome, fills up the opening really nice.

Correct. Just put up slightly better numbers, less pressure drop I'm assuming.
Suprisingly, it actually spooled better than the stock inter-warmer as well.
