There is an auto x at Mack Truck Headquarters this Sunday the 27th. Go to PHILLYSCCA.COM for more details. I can answer any questions. People that have not ever done auto x are incouraged to come out and participate.

Do we get to run circles around here :P

I wish I would be up there, maybe I'll still head up. But winter tires don't take cones to well.

Hrm, if I had known of this I may of went here instead of planning on going to Harrisburg with Susq region. I like to make it out to different regions if I can. No plans of any other Philly events either. I'm already pre-registered and paid for the Farm Show complex event with Susq.

I was at a Sportsfest autocross before and it wasn't too bad. The lot is alright but the bigger, back section was in pretty rough shape. That was 3 years ago too.

I've never been to the Mack Truck HQ... how is the lot there?

It's not the greatest lot, and not the largest, but average times were in the 33-34 second range last year. Certainly not breaking up or anything, just an older paving job. (Edit: Kupop said it was breaking up a little. I think they kept the course out of that bad back corner last year, and probably will this year too. At any rate, last year I didn't notice the lot being in poor condition *shrug*)

It is a non-points event for philly region, so the turnout is lower, the atmosphere is a little more casual and really geared towards people just getting into autox, with more instructors than usual available for ride-alongs and assistance, etc.

Especially if you're one of those people thinking of trying out autox for the first time, maybe one of those people who keeps putting it off until new tires or better suspension or whatever, this is a REALLY good event to make it out to and have fun and get a feel for the sport and what your car can do.

I'm going to be out trying this for the first time in the WRX. I can feel the brake fade now.

Actually I'm not going to make it out... I got a bit ambitious last night and got the engine bay of my 240sx painted. I'm going to use Sunday to start dropping in the SR.

registation starts at 8am. last year they had it split in to AM and PM. AM raced, then worked the PM; PM worked the AM, raced 2nd
