I find myself saying it to customers at work. Then when I hang up, I sit there and think of how stupid I sound. But everytime, thats what comes out.
Buh-bye!

ive heard the SNL skit, i highly doubt that the phrase was coined FROM that scene alone. it just sounds so weird, it bothers the **** out of me.

I seriously doubt it.... That skit was made in 1994
It's most likely from people being too damn lazy to pronounce a word proplerly. I.E. "ok" is said "k", when said quickly.

Came from bye bye, that people twisted into buh-bye. Then the SNL skit with David Spade made it the hip thing to say.

yeah I agree-- people said it before 1994 but just subconsciously.
The SNL stewardess skit brought 'buh' bye as an actual pop culture catch phrase.
SNL started 'more cowbell' too
