ahh ya lil update soo on the way home last night the sup decided to over heated for the second time in a month, after it cooled down i started heading home and it was spuddering and missing. I got home and pulled the first plug and found it dripping in coolant. So i believe my head gasket is blown
its not surprise my head was not in great condition when i did my rebuild so ill be saving up for a new one also gunna get some ARP studs.
The good news is iam getting a new a DD in about a week from my brother its a 02 galant should be a nice gas saver.

i have a virgin never cut or milled down 7mgte na head (These are better becuse they do not get the cracking in the coolant passages like turbo heads). You might be interested in this.

ok man ill keep that in mind but what is it that you have a GTE head or a GE cause you kinda said 7mgte na. I know there are small differences between The two. And how much do you want for it ? how many miles on it ?
Honestly i have all ready been quoted at $500 for a rebuild with cams.

it was a 7mge, my bad, brain fart. I could let the na core go for 200 bucks, but it would need to be cleaned, and machined to be sure its straight. All in all, i cant beat the 500 for the rebuild with cams, but I would strongly suggest that you inquire as to how many times the rebuild you are getting has been milled, or how much has been milled total, as this can severly suggest cam timming. I would also suggest looking at the water passages very closely, esp on the exhaust side, as these are prone to start cracking early

Ya iam weighting that option right now I might just go NA-T and run low boost. After new years iam going to make a decision on what will be done. I would feel bad putting another engine in there after ive already fully build the bottom end. So maybe a stock ct26 with the new head.
Thanks circus i will still consider your head I might know the right people to have to machine work done for a good price ill have to look into that tuesday at work. Another Q does it still have cams ?

No cams in that head, but it has all cam caps. What are ur cam journals like, if u are gonna do a new head, I'd suggues that u look at the journals and make sure they look good before putting them in a fresh head

ya i cant reuse my cams the lopes are damanged they started to wear away on the ends , iam guessing from bad cam timing or just old age

Ya so i got my head off last night.. i have a tiny amount of coolant in each cylinder , i cleaned it out and made sure each one was dry. the piston them selves had some carbon build up not much. For only like 3K, But yeah the head is toast half the valves are white and half are black but i guess this is normal but it just looked beat.
i know this is kinda use less with out pics they will be coming tonight.

NO. I used my old head not the old gasket. I used a brand new gasket

Nice car! It would look sweet sitting a bit lower and maybe some more tyre. Also, if you're into drifting you can leave the body as is and maybe even get props for it lol.

Yeah it hard to find not abused and not needing a swap right away for a good price I honestly paid $800 for mine he wanted $1500. A little later it started knocking and i knew it was time for a rebuild.
