I will be there August 17th at 14:45 GMT+1, I think its going to be the best 10 minutes of my life, I can't believe I am doing this, its a dream come true. I'm not driving though, just getting a pro to drive me in an M5...

Sabine or one of the other drivers, hopefully her! Did you even get a ride on it?

Nope, but I knew a few people that do drive around it on a weekly basis. That **** is not smooth in most parts though, let me tell you haha

A few guys I knew of would run it every now and then and basically something would break almost every other week. I think I read somewhere 20 laps at max capacity around the nurburgring is equal to a lifetime of abuse to a normal car

I thought it was something like 1km on the 'Ring is like 12km on a normal road course or something. I think they change the tires ever 10 laps, brakes every 20 or 50 laps, suspension every 100 laps and then every year they replace the cars. Something like that

Yeah, basically - the beating on the ring's surface causes the strut mounts to start deforming after a while and the suspension geometry ****s up. Cars don't last long.

I hope to go back in a few years when I have like 1000 euro to spend at the track and racecar rental and plenty of driver training and attack the track myself. But this will do for now

I have heard that you need to reserve your space well ahead of time. Is that true?

No, I missed my chance last month but you better believe once everything is dialed in I am! The weekend I was supposed to go it was 20 Euros a lap about $30.

Rumor was for the BMW Ring-Taxi that it booked a year in advance. I booked two months or so in advance

If you have your own car you just pull up and pay for a lap and go. I looked into race-car rentals and I could have gotten a half-day with a MKI VW Lupo for $500 including price of laps but I went with the Ring Taxi instead

Cool pics. Are all those guys stationed in Germany in the military?

Anyone have any history on the graffiti on the track? That is something I always wondered about
