One could go out and purchase a standalone engine management system and have full reign over the same thing, but the expense of such alternative is incredibly high, not to mention it is made to work with any kind of car out there, not specifically yours. Why buy a whole new computer that requires you to install it and build your own mappings from scratch when all you need to do is change how your already installed computer behaves? This is one of the finer attributes of the Zemulator: it is an expansion of Nissan's million-dollar EFI technology rather than a replacement.
The Zemulator will require that your ECU's mainboard is socketed where the stock EPROM is located*. Installation is painless, requires only simple hand tools and will take no longer than 30 minutes before you are up and running, ready for precision tuning.

General Settings
In order to communicate with the Zemulator and make changes, you need an interface. An interface that is easy to understand is even better. This is the 'guts' of the entire setup; an interface that allows you to see your computer's operating parameters in a format that makes perfect sense and will allow you to change them on the fly. A notebook computer with an available serial port will be necessary to perform this task and the software will perform on a W95/W98/W2000/XP platform. A 6' serial cable is provided with the hardware which can be nicely tucked under the center console when not being used. Simply plug and play!

Need more fuel at 5500RPM? No problem. Simply open the High Octane Fuel Map and increase your fuel delivery at that specific point.
Experiencing detonation or high EGT's at 6400RPM? No problem there either. Simply go into the map and modify your ignition timing.
Upgrade your injectors, pistons, exhaust components, camshafts? We simplify the necessary program adaptations by providing you directly with a vehicle-specific configuration file for your setup that can be loaded and the vehicle is ready for startup and tuning.
Want to install a dual-intake filer system? No problem, install the hardware***, select the option in the Injector Sizing menu and you are on your way!
Rev limiter, speed limiter and VTC release RPM values are also included on this application for further tuning.
Need a hotter spark to maintain proper ignition under high boost applications? No problem, just increase your dwell duty to charge your coil packs more.
Taking your car to the shop or letting the valet park your sweet Z? No problem, dial in a 3000RPM rev limiter and a 30MPH speed limiter and you've shut their rocketride fantasies down.
