does anyone have the tool to push the piston back in on the rear caliper of an 01 gti. If not does anyone know where i can get it cheap? Cause you have to push and turn at the same time, and we cant find the tool at autozone/pep boys.

how bad are the pads? the reason i ask is that harbour freight sells a tool that should have the right adapter for around 40 dollars, the problems is it is very thick and if your pads are really worn then you will probaly not be able to get the tool to fit in the caliper, the oem special tool is very thin, less than an inch thick.

You can buy a universal brake cube almost anywhere from $5-$20. I know the pepboys, napa, advanced auto, and sears by me all have them in stock

you may encounter the same problem with the cube though, sometimes its too thick to fit in the caliper. plus ive had a hard time retracting vw pistons with a cube cause you have to push so hard. it is the cheapest route though so if you want to try that first, good luck.
