Seems it got a faster time then the new gtr.
It topped out at 179mph on the long straight section.

was it just me or did it seem really unstable?
was it just me or did it seem really unstable?

Nurburgring is a very bumpy road, and he was taking those bumps at over 140mph, trying to go as fast as possible. So yeah, its going to look at little bumpy.

was the GTR catching back up in the straights? I couldnt watch both screens at the same time. It didnt look like they were very far apart.

I'd really like to see a different driver (someone from best motoring) do a lap in both cars again. I really think there's room for improvement. the ZR1 is definitely faster and yes that track is bumpy as all hell. more like an unstable track than an unstable car.

Car sounded sick. Go GM.

The ZR1 was only driven on the tires it came with, and it was an engineer driving. Not a professional driver. Not a bad lap at all if you ask me, given the conditions of the run.
Wasn't the GTR on full race rubber for it's lap?

those high speeds sections are so sketchy with the elevation changes and blind corners
and i got over 200mph in PGR so im obviously a much better driver than that guy

yeah, big whoop. I've hit well over 200 on the Ring....... in GT4. :D
I don't get teh controversy tho, who cares which car is faster around a 8 minute course, doesn't mean anything. BOTH are fast. thats good enough for me. I'd buy whichever is cheaper and love teh hell out of it.
plus, isn't it to be expected that a supercharged V8 thats [almost] 2x the displacement of the GTR would be faster???? seems pretty logical to me.

I can't even formulate a sentence that can explain how stupid that comment was :bigeek:
The ZR-1 is friggin awesome. Though the Vspec GT-R is a second faster, unofficially at least. I to would love to see a third party test of both. I never realized how close the guard rails were to the road on the ring. Looks... scary at the speeds he flys through some of the turns. Looks sort of skiddish but I guess that's so be expected with a supercharged RWD beast on a naturally bumpy track.

All bias aside, the GTR look like it wasn't trying. ZR1 looked like it had ants in its pants.
But conversely the ZR1 driver seems better than the dude in the R35.

I LOVE this car. No traction control, no dynamic braking.....NO BS. You have to be a real driver to get this thing around corners fast.
It looked awesome to me. If any of you have ever taken a corner at those speeds with those kind of elevation changes, you'll know why this car is awesome. It actually looked to have amazing controll.

This is true, not to mention I do like the engine better. I wish it had two turbo's instead of a super duper.
Cars have too many computers these days.

car computers help the 90% of people who own cars they have no business driving, not go out of control and kill us everyday...

Awesome, awesome car.
BTW, with regards to the GTR and driving ability...anyone can drive it 80% of the way...100% takes true talent and bravery.
And no, the 7:29 was not on race rubber. That's a translation error. The 7:29 run was on Dunlop runflats.
And btw, for a car that weighs close to 400lbs less and has close to 100 more hp, it should have beaten it by a whole lot more than 3 seconds.
